About this role

Position Overview:

At CDM, recruiting is about more than filling open positions. It’s about building relationships, knowing where to find great people, and creating a candidate experience that reflects who we are. This is a hands-on role for someone who brings new ideas while also rolling up their sleeves to recruit and source both experienced and early-career talent, build talent pipelines, lead our college recruiting efforts, improve our recruiting tools and processes, and help our teams make great hires.

The Recruiting Manager will lead recruiting efforts across our company, partnering with Unit HR, hiring leaders, and Marketing to support current hiring needs and build stronger talent pipelines for the future. This role will also own our recruiting experience and applicant tracking system (ATS), SAP SuccessFactors, in partnership with our HRIS leader.

What You’ll Do:

Recruiting & Talent Sourcing

- Partner with hiring leaders to understand hiring needs and develop practical sourcing strategies.

- Lead hands-on recruiting and sourcing for assigned non-union positions across our operating companies.

- Support field and union workforce needs by strengthening awareness of the skilled trades and building partnerships that connect people to careers in our industry.

- Proactively find and engage candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Handshake, referrals, industry relationships, and other sourcing channels.

- Build pipelines for recurring, hard-to-fill, and future talent needs.

- Bring hiring leaders market insight and practical guidance throughout the recruiting and selection process.

Recruiting Operations & Candidate Experience

- Oversee SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting from a business and candidate-experience perspective, ensuring the ATS effectively supports recruiting, tracking, compliance, and reporting.

- Look for ways to make applying, interviewing, and joining our companies easier and more engaging for candidates.

- Maintain and improve job postings, recruiting workflows, candidate communications, interview resources, and reporting.

- Partner with HRIS to troubleshoot system issues and improve recruiting technology and processes.

- Use recruiting data and market feedback to understand what’s working and where we need to adjust.

- Provide hiring teams with training, tools, and resources that support fair and consistent hiring practices and an excellent candidate experience.

College & Early Career Recruiting

- Lead college, internship, and early-career recruiting efforts across the organization.

- Build strong relationships with colleges, universities, construction management programs, faculty, student organizations, and career centers.

- Manage Handshake and coordinate career fairs, campus visits, recruiting events, and other early-career outreach.

- Partner with our operating companies to understand internship and entry-level hiring needs, build talent pipelines, and build on the enthusiasm our teams already bring to campus recruiting.

- Help create an internship and early-career experience that keeps great people interested in building their careers with our companies.

Partnerships & Industry Outreach

- Partner with Marketing and our operating companies to support recruiting content and tell an authentic story about careers across CDM through relevant channels.

- Build relationships with schools, industry organizations, union partners, and community partners to introduce more people to specialty construction, the skilled trades, and the career opportunities our industry provides.

What You Bring – Skills & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Minimum 3 years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience with strong hands-on sourcing experience. Recruiting experience in the construction industry is preferred.

- Experience with college recruiting, internship, or early-career programs is a must; leadership experience in these areas is preferred.

- Experience supporting recruiting across multiple businesses or geographic markets.

- An appetite for building and improving recruiting programs and processes, with the curiosity to try new approaches.

- Experience developing sourcing strategies and proactively building candidate pipelines.

- Sourcing savvy with hands-on experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, Handshake, and other recruiting sources and platforms.

- Tech savvy with experience using an applicant tracking system (ATS) to manage recruiting processes, candidate communications, tracking, and reporting. Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting or a similar ATS/HRIS platform is preferred.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and connect with a variety of audiences.
