About this role

As a Product Manager at Legatics, you will play a central role in shaping the strategy and development of our legal transaction management platform. Operating at the intersection of user needs, market opportunity, business goals and technical feasibility, you will lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, design, sales, customer success and our partners to deliver meaningful, high-impact solutions for transactional lawyers.

Legatics is at an interesting point. Alongside the core platform, we are bringing new products to market, deepening our integrations with the systems law firms already run their deals on, and building the connections that let AI tools work with transaction data held in Legatics. You will own product areas within that picture: analysing market and competitive trends, shaping the roadmap, defining requirements with precision, and making sure that what we ship lands well with customers and partners alike.

The product team is also changing how it works. We are moving towards spec-driven development and bringing AI into how we discover, specify, prototype and build, and we want someone who is comfortable being part of that shift rather than watching it from the side.

What you'll be doing

In close collaboration with the Chief Product & Strategy Officer, and alongside the wider product, design and engineering teams, this role will involve:

Discovery and insight

- Collaborating with customers, partners, stakeholders and internal teams to gather, synthesise and prioritise product requirements that align with business goals and product strategy.
- Designing and guiding discovery activities, including customer interviews, usability testing and feedback sessions, to validate assumptions, test hypotheses and uncover unmet needs.
- Analysing product usage data, customer insights and market signals to identify opportunities, improve user experience and inform roadmap decisions.
- Conducting competitive analysis and market research, including keeping a close eye on how AI is changing the way transactional work gets done and where Legatics should sit within that.
- Working with Solutions Consulting, Customer Success and Partnerships to capture what prospects, customers and partners are telling us, and turning that into a clear picture of where the opportunities are.

Shaping the roadmap and defining what we build

- Owning the roadmap for your product areas: framing the problems worth solving, making prioritisation calls with clear reasoning, and keeping the roadmap honest about trade-offs and sequencing.
- Drafting clear, comprehensive specifications, user stories and feature briefs that connect customer needs to business outcomes and give engineering, and the AI tooling we increasingly build with, complete context, clarity and alignment.
- Using AI across discovery, specification and prototyping to test ideas quickly, sharpen requirements and get working examples in front of customers and engineers sooner.
- Communicating roadmap decisions and progress to leadership and the wider business, so that everyone understands what is coming, when and why.

Delivering with engineering and design

- Working closely with engineering and design to refine requirements, assess trade-offs and deliver features that create meaningful value for customers.
- Leading cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through design, development, testing and launch.
- Facilitating sprint planning, backlog refinement and ongoing team rituals to keep alignment and momentum.
- Making sure quality, security and performance considerations are part of the definition of done, not an afterthought, particularly where features touch customer data or external systems.

Building for the wider ecosystem

- Shaping how Legatics works with the wider ecosystem, including integrations with document management, e-signature and data room providers, and the interfaces that allow AI platforms and agents to read from and act on Legatics securely.
- Working with the Partnerships Manager to understand partner roadmaps and requirements, prioritise partner-facing work and make sure what we build with partners lands well for shared customers.

Go-to-market and adoption

- Acting as a product evangelist, both internally and externally, through product demonstrations, presentations and training sessions that educate and engage stakeholders, customers, partners and sales teams.
- Partnering with marketing, sales, customer success and partnerships to align messaging, improve enablement and drive adoption.
- Supporting go-to-market planning and post-launch monitoring to ensure successful product rollout and continuous improvement, including release communications and internal enablement for each launch.

Measuring impact

- Defining success metrics for the features and products you own, measuring outcomes after launch and using what you learn to shape what comes next.
- Tracking adoption and usage of what you ship, spotting where features are not being used as intended and deciding whether that calls for iteration, enablement or retirement.

Growing the product practice

- Contributing to the growth of product practice at Legatics by sharing best practices and helping us make good use of AI in how we build.
- Helping the team settle into spec-driven and AI-assisted ways of working, improving templates, tooling and process as we learn what works.

Requirements

Who we are looking for

We're a small product team with big ambitions. We're looking for someone who thrives on deeply understanding customer needs and is obsessive about competitors and market opportunities. You should be passionate about uncovering insights that lead to valuable, well-defined features. Attention to detail is critical. We need someone who takes pride in defining requirements with precision and clarity, and for whom detail isn't just important, it's essential.

- 3+ years of B2B SaaS product management experience, ideally in products that enable efficient project management and/or simplify complex workflows, with a track record of delivering impactful features and initiatives.
- Proven ability to drive complex projects forward independently with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to define product requirements with a high level of precision and clarity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Experience working closely with customers to deeply understand their needs, pain points and workflows, and translating those insights into product decisions.
- Skilled at storytelling to communicate product roadmap, customer value and team progress in a compelling and accessible way.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas, challenge assumptions and approach problems from new angles.
- Experience working closely with go-to-market teams (marketing, sales, customer success) to support product launches, enablement and customer adoption.
- Data-driven mindset with experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decisions, prioritise features and measure product success.
- Comfortable working on products that connect to other systems. You understand APIs, MCP, integrations and the trade-offs involved in building for a wider ecosystem, even if you are not an engineer.
- Comfortable with spec-driven development, and with the way product teams are changing as AI becomes part of how products are discovered, specified, prototyped and built. We are making that transition and want someone who will be an active part of it.
- Comfortable using AI tools to optimise and automate your own workflow and improve your efficiency, alert to where they can create value for Legatics, and using them as a lens on what customers will come to expect from a product like ours.
- Passion for technology, innovation and staying up to date with industry trends and best practices.

Bonus points (but don't let these put you off applying) if:

- You have some legal experience, or have worked with law firms or other professional services businesses.
- You have a background in computer science or another relevant technical field.
- You have taken a new product or integration from zero to launch.

We're interested in hiring a diverse range of candidates from all different backgrounds, so if you're not sure if you meet our requirements, we'd still love to hear from you.

What makes you a great match

We are open on seniority for this role. Whether you are an experienced product manager ready to take ownership of complex, high-value product areas, or earlier in your career with a strong record of delivery and a lot of ambition, we will shape the role around what you bring. You'll thrive here if you're proactive, adaptable and energised by the pace and opportunity of a growing business in a fast-evolving market. You'll do especially well if you bring maturity, independence and a track record of driving successful product outcomes, combining strong analytical and strategic thinking with curiosity and empathy. These qualities will let you engage confidently with internal stakeholders, customers and partners, and translate deep market and user understanding into product decisions that shape the future of our platform.

Who would you be working with?

You would be working with a welcoming, inclusive and committed team.

Team culture is really important to us. We're looking for someone excited to join as a key employee at this important stage in our growth, someone who brings fresh ideas and new perspectives to Legatics. You'll have regular opportunities to collaborate with senior leadership and contribute directly to strategic conversations. We're a friendly and passionate bunch with a wide range of interests, and we love to socialise together too, holding regular team events.
