Location: Peachtree Church, Atlanta, GA

About Wonderfully Made
Wonderfully Made is a ministry of Peachtree Church that cultivates community for adults with intellectual disabilities, known as Wonder Makers, through a gospel-centered day program anchored in belonging, dignity, and joy. Our signature bakery model provides meaningful activities that create connection, confidence, and purpose. Peachtree Church is honored to be the home of the first Wonderfully Made chapter and a founding partner in this growing national movement.
The Peachtree Chapter Team
Wonderfully Made is one cohesive experience for Wonder Makers, running Monday through Thursday. The day program and the bakery are two elements of that one experience: the bakery is an expression of the program, and the program comes alive in part through the work of the bakery.
The Peachtree Church chapter is led by two Co-Managers who share responsibility for the whole, supported by a part-time Aide and the Bakery Specialist.
Job Summary
The Bakery Specialist leads bakery production for the Peachtree chapter. This person bakes from Wonderfully Mades established recipes, plans production around confirmed orders, and keeps quality consistent from batch to batch. Just as important, the Bakery Specialist sets up the bakery so Wonder Makers take a real, meaningful part in the work of baking.
The Bakery Specialist also cross-trains the Co-Managers, so they can bake with confidence on days the Specialist is not on site. The Co-Managers make sure every order is fulfilled each day, and the Bakery Specialist makes sure there is excellent product to fulfill.
Key Responsibilites
Production Leadership
Production planning: Plan the daily and weekly production schedule from confirmed orders, including digital, catering/wholesale, retail, and Steeple Coffee orders.
Baking: Bake from Wonderfully Mades established recipes with consistent quality, appearance, and taste.
Quality standards: Hold every batch to Wonderfully Mades product standards before it moves to packaging and fulfillment.
Handoff: Coordinate with the Co-Managers so finished product is ready for them to package and either set out for pickup or ship that day.
Seasonal peaks: Plan and lead increased production during the Christmas and Easter seasons and around Wonderfully Made events.
WonderMakers in the Bakery
Meaningful roles: Design bakery stations and tasks so every Wonder Maker has a meaningful, well-supported part in production.
Baking alongside: Work alongside Wonder Makers with patience, encouragement, and joy, celebrating progress and growth.
Program partnership: Coordinate with the Co-Managers so bakery time fits the program day and Wonder Makers experience one seamless day.
Cross-Training and Volunteers
Co-Manager cross-training: Train the Co-Managers on production, recipes, and equipment so they can bake when the Specialist is not on site.
Bakery volunteers: Guide volunteers at bakery stations, training them on tasks and food-safety practices.
Production guides: Keep simple, written production guides and checklists current so anyone covering the bakery can follow them.
Food Safety and Kitchen Care
Food safety: Lead ServSafe protocols, sanitation practices, and safe food handling for everyone working in the bakery.
Records: Maintain production, temperature, sanitation, and equipment logs, and keep them inspection-ready.
Equipment: Keep bakery equipment clean, maintained, and in good working order, and report repairs to the Supervisor.
Ingredients and Supplies
Inventory: Monitor ingredient and packaging levels against the production schedule.
Supply requests: Tell the Wonderfully Made Coordinator what is needed and when, so supplies arrive before production requires them.
Waste and cost: Track ingredient usage and waste, and suggest ways to reduce cost without lowering quality.
Consulted: Provide input on product mix, pricing, and new products
Work Schedule
Schedule: Production days and hours are set with the Supervisor based on order volume and the program calendar.
Holiday Commitments: The churchs most significant events occur during the Christmas and Easter seasons. These are also the bakerys busiest seasons, and the Bakery Specialist is expected to be available for increased production during these periods.
Escalation: Report any incident involving a Wonder Makers safety to a Co-Manager and the Supervisor immediately. Route policy, financial, and media matters to the Supervisor.
