About the Opportunity

PrideStaff is actively recruiting a dedicated Material Handler / Order Builder on behalf of a premier distribution and logistics client in Tacoma, WA. In this role, you will serve as the backbone of daily warehouse operations. By managing warehouse inventory and building route orders with precision, you ensure field drivers have exactly what they need to keep local businesses and facilities fully stocked. Key Responsibilities

Smart Picking: Pick, pull, and stack items using handheld smart technology and electronic picking systems to accurately fulfill daily route orders.

Quality Control: Inspect products during the picking process. Identify and immediately remove damaged, expired, or unsellable items from active inventory.

Staging & Loading: Safely organize, stage, and load orders onto pallets and route vehicles for morning dispatch.

Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Transport and dispose of warehouse trash and recyclables following proper safety protocols.

Inventory Tracking: Assist with regular cycle counts and actively report missing inventory or discrepancies to the warehouse management team.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Previous warehouse, fulfillment, or material handling experience is highly preferred, but our client is willing to train highly motivated candidates.

Tech Literacy: Comfortable using handheld smart devices, RF scanners, and basic warehouse inventory technology.

Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to accurately match product codes and quantities.

Reliability: Proven track record of excellent attendance and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Physical Demands

Heavy Lifting: Ability to repeatedly lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout the duration of the shift.

Stamina: Must be comfortable with continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, and kneeling on concrete floors.
