Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities for the Operator 5 include but are not limited to:
- Safely operate and setup multiple pieces of equipment throughout the roll forming lines to effectively fill in positions as needed.
- Read and interpret shop drawings.
- Understand and execute departmental policies concerning production, inventory, quality, and training.
- Be able to use measuring equipment (tape measure, micrometer, squares, etc.)
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklift and other equipment as needed.
- Perform tasks as directed by line Supervisor and/or Group Leader.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Buildings Group Texas will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future)
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience or cross training of NBG Rollforming operations and equipment.
- Certified Crane and Forklift Operator
