### Position Overview
Townewest Elementary is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic tutors to provide small-group academic support in science for students in grade 5. Tutors will work closely with students to reinforce grade-level skills, build confidence, and support academic growth in a structured after-school setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide small-group instruction in science aligned with grade-level standards
- Support skill development through targeted practice and guided instruction
- Assist students with comprehension, fluency, problem-solving, and foundational math skills
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Collaborate with school staff as needed to support student success
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with elementary-aged students in a classroom, tutoring, or academic support setting
- Experience with science instruction for grades 5 preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to work effectively with small groups
- Dependable, professional, and student-focused
