About this role

TL;DR: We're looking for a deployment strategy lead to own our most important customer relationships and help transform how the $4T+ contingent workforce industry identifies authentic talent.

About Ropes

Ropes is building anti-fraud technology for hiring. DPRK operatives, fake candidates, proxy interviews, and AI-assisted cheating are now common in the contingent labor market. We help staffing, services, and the F500 catch them before they get hired and monitor them after they start their jobs.

Company highlights:

- Talent-dense, capable team: We're a team of 14 from Penn, Stanford, Waterloo, Retool, MongoDB, and top tech companies with seed-stage headcount and Series A-type metrics
- Well-capitalized: $3.1M seed round led by GSV Ventures & Boxgroup with angels from OpenAI, SpaceX, Retool, and more
- Traction : We've flown past 7 figures in revenue, with hundreds of customers - including the largest staffing firm in the world and multiple large enterprises
- Market opportunity: Our customers are both the suppliers of short-term "contingent" labor and the buyers of that labor. We're working to reinvent how both sides of this market identifies and allocates quality talent from the ground up.

What You'll Do:

- Own the success of flagship enterprise accounts, tracking performance milestones, and building deep relationships from end users to executives
- Work at the intersection of product, engineering, and GTM to ensure customer issues get the right prioritization and urgency and turn your observations into new products on the roadmap
- Build the playbooks and processes that will scale our key functions as the company grows

Who You Are:

- You have 2 to 5 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, or growth/ops/customer success at an early-stage technology company
- You don't wait for answers - you hunt them down. When context is missing, you dig through Gong calls, Slack threads, and customer data until you find it, then synthesize it into actionable insights
- You’re comfortable with customers at every level. You can run a working session with a recruiter on Monday and brief a VP on Friday.
- You turn messy customer feedback into clear product input. You know the difference between one customer’s request and a pattern worth building for.
- You own problems to the end and rarely require course correction.

Why Ropes:

- Early impact: Join at the exact inflection point. Past product-market fit and before scaling takes over
- Ownership: You'll own our most strategic customer relationships and shape how we build the function over time
- Growth trajectory: This role evolves into leadership and more strategic roles (product, GTM, finance) as we scale

This is an on-site role in New York City, designed for operators who want to build something from the ground up.
