Job Description:

Our Opportunity

Chewy Operations Teams relies on timely, trusted data to deliver reliable customer experiences across a large and complex fulfillment network. We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst I to develop reporting, analysis, insights, and visualizations that help operators and leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, and take action.

What You'll Do

- Analyze fulfillment and operational data to explain performance trends, identify gaps and opportunities, and support day-to-day decision-making across the Core Fulfillment network.
- Write and maintain SQL queries and analysis-ready datasets for recurring reporting, ad hoc requests, and defined operational questions, following established metric definitions and quality standards.
- Build, update, and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau or comparable business intelligence tools so operators and leaders can monitor performance and investigate results.
- Partner with Operations, Operations Support, Analytics, and Technology teams to gather requirements, understand workflows, document business logic, and confirm that deliverables address the intended decision or need.
- Validate data and reconcile results across source systems and reports; document assumptions and escalate material gaps, inconsistencies, or unclear definitions.
- Support weekly and monthly business reviews, operational experiments, and improvement initiatives by preparing accurate reporting and measuring results against agreed success criteria.
- Document queries, dashboards, definitions, and analytical methods; participate in peer reviews and apply feedback to strengthen accuracy, clarity, and maintainability.

What You'll Need

- A bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, business with an analytics focus, or related field, or equivalent working experience.
- Up to 2 years of relevant experience through full-time work, internships, co-ops, academic projects, or comparable applied experience in business intelligence, data analytics, operations analytics, or a related field.
- Foundational SQL skills, including filtering, aggregation, joins, common table expressions, and checking results for accuracy.
- Experience analyzing data and explaining what the results mean through coursework, internships, work experience, or independent projects.
- Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, or another visualization tool, with an understanding of how to present operational information clearly.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets for analysis, validation, and communicating results.
- Ability to organize work, follow established processes, ask clear questions, and raise blockers when requirements or data are unclear.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize findings for business partners.
- Interest in learning fulfillment operations, supply chain processes, and the systems and metrics used to manage a large operational network.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to receive feedback, build new technical skills, and contribute to shared team standards.

Bonus

- Experience with fulfillment, supply chain, logistics, retail operations, or another large process-driven network.
- Familiarity with dbt or another governed SQL transformation framework.
- Python or R experience for analysis, automation, statistical modeling, or data validation.
- Experience supporting operational experiments, forecasting, capacity planning, labor planning, or continuous improvement initiatives.

The base salary range for this role is $57,000 - $85,500.00.
- The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location.
