INFRASTRUCTURE - SR. ENGINEER (SEWER)

Job Summary:

KN International is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer – Sewer to oversee sewerage infrastructure works and ensure compliance with approved project requirements, engineering standards, and authority regulations. The candidate will be responsible for supervising construction activities, reviewing technical submissions, monitoring quality and progress, coordinating with project stakeholders, and overseeing testing, commissioning, and handover of sewerage networks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise the construction of sewer pipelines, manholes, inspection chambers, service connections, and associated structures .
- Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, material approvals, method statements, and inspection and test plans (ITPs) .
- Monitor excavation, shoring, dewatering, pipe installation, bedding, backfilling, compaction, and reinstatement activities.
- Verify pipeline alignment, gradients, invert levels, and connection points in coordination with the Survey Team.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, technical queries, method statements, and inspection requests , providing technical input and recommendations as required.
- Supervise and review pipeline testing, CCTV inspections, commissioning activities, and test results , ensuring defects are rectified and outstanding observations are closed.
- Coordinate sewerage works with roads, stormwater, water supply, irrigation, dry utilities, and other infrastructure systems to resolve interface issues and utility conflicts.
- Liaise with the Resident Engineer, contractors, consultants, QA/QC personnel, inspectors, client representatives, and relevant authorities to address technical issues and coordinate site activities.
- Provide technical guidance to site supervision personnel and monitor contractor performance, construction progress, workmanship, and resource deployment .
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance, quality control, and HSE requirements , particularly for excavation, confined-space entry, lifting, shoring, and dewatering activities.
- Coordinate with TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) and other relevant authorities for inspections, testing, approvals, and required clearances.
- Participate in final inspections, snagging, commissioning, and project handover , verifying as-built drawings, testing records, O&M manuals, and close-out documentation.
- Maintain site records, inspection logs, progress reports, and technical documentation in accordance with project requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in infrastructure projects , including substantial experience in sewerage networks and utility infrastructure works .
- Experience in UAE/GCC infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with TAQA Water Solutions (TAQA WS) standards, procedures, and authority approval requirements is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of sewer network construction, inspection, testing, and commissioning .
- Understanding of QA/QC procedures, technical documentation, and construction inspection requirements .
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents .
- Knowledge of utility coordination and multidisciplinary infrastructure interfaces .
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills .
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder coordination skills .
