About this role

Description

The ICQA Supervisor is the Inventory Control & Quality Assurance team at our delivery station. You'll lead a team of associates responsible for inventory accuracy, quality audits, and process compliance across the floor. You'll own daily/weekly cycle counts, quality walks, IRDR, net adjustments, damages, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions - ensures our inventory stock is accurate, locations are clean and controlled, and safety and quality standards are met every shift.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on the floor, uses data to drive decisions, and holds a team to a high standard.

Key job responsibilities
- Inventory accuracy
Plan and execute daily/weekly cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies
Investigate inventory defects (misplaced, mislabeled, damaged, missing stock) to root cause
Maintain bin/location integrity so every item is in a correct, scannable location
Track and report inventory accuracy KPIs; drive corrective actions to hit targets
- Quality assurance
Conduct daily quality walks and audits of pick faces, staging, and storage areas
Identify and log quality defects; raise and follow through on corrective actions
Monitor inbound/outbound quality and flag recurring issues to the ICQA Manager
Support defect-reduction and 5S initiatives across the station
- Team leadership
Supervise, schedule, and coach a team of ICQA associates
Set daily targets, assign tasks, and balance workload across the shift
Train new associates on counting, auditing, and quality procedures
Monitor performance and productivity; give feedback and manage under-performance
- Compliance & safety
Enforce safety standards: clear fire exits, safe stacking, unobstructed aisles
Ensure team follows SOPs and quality/safety policies at all times
Escalate safety or compliance risks promptly
- Reporting & collaboration
Produce daily/weekly accuracy and quality reports for the ICQA Manager
Partner with Operations, Inbound, and Outbound teams to resolve discrepancies
Use data to identify trends and recommend process improvements

A day in the life
Your shift starts with a quick huddle with your ICQA associates - you review yesterday's accuracy numbers, flag any open discrepancies, and set the day's priorities. Before the floor gets busy, you walk the aisles for your first quality check: are the fire exits and extinguishers clear, are items in the right bins, are any pick faces overflowing or mislabeled? Anything off gets logged on the spot.

By mid-morning you're deep in cycle counts. You assign locations to your team, work alongside them on the trickier counts, and when a discrepancy pops up you don't just correct it - you dig into why it happened. A missing unit, a mislabeled bin, stock in the wrong location: you trace it to root cause and put a fix in place so it doesn't repeat.

Through the shift you're moving between the floor and the data. You pull the day's numbers, spot a station or DSP that's trending off, and go investigate in person rather than guessing from a screen. You coach a new associate on how to scan and count correctly, help Operations resolve a staging issue, and clear a tote that's blocking a walkway before it becomes a safety problem.

Toward the end of the shift you pull together your accuracy and quality report for the ICQA Manager, note the wins and the open items, and hand over cleanly to the next shift. You leave knowing the floor is cleaner, the counts are tighter, and your team is a little sharper than when the day started.

No two days are identical - peak days bring volume and pressure, quiet days are for deep audits and process improvement - but every day comes back to the same thing: accurate inventory, high quality, a safe floor, and a team that's set up to deliver it.

About the team
The ICQA (Inventory Control & Quality Assurance) team is the backbone of accuracy and trust at our delivery station. We're the people who make sure that what the system says is on the shelf is actually on the shelf - and that it's in good condition, in the right place, and ready to move. When inventory is accurate and quality is high, every downstream team runs smoother: picks are faster, deliveries are right the first time, and customers get what they ordered.

We're a hands-on, floor-first team. We don't manage quality from behind a desk - we walk the aisles, run the counts, open the totes, and chase down the root cause of every discrepancy. We care about the details because the details are what keep inventory honest and the floor safe.

We also look out for each other. New associates get trained properly, questions are welcome, and good ideas for making a process better are taken seriously no matter who they come from. It's a fast environment with real pressure during peak, but it's also a place where you'll learn the operation inside out and see the direct impact of your work every single shift.

As ICQA Supervisor, you'll lead a group of associates within this team and report into the ICQA Manager. You'll have the autonomy to run your shift, the support to grow your people, and a direct line to the standards that keep the whole station running.
