About this role

## About the role
We’re looking for two AI-native SDE-II Engineers who have built and operated high-scale backend systems and are hands-on with both Go and Node.js . You’ll build services for customer engagement, messaging, campaigns, automation and customer-data processing. You should be comfortable owning distributed systems in production and using AI to improve engineering speed without compromising correctness, security or reliability. For us, AI-native means more than using a coding assistant: you can frame problems, use AI effectively, validate its output and take full ownership of what ships.

What you’ll do

- Design, build and operate backend services using Go and Node.js/TypeScript .
- Build high-throughput event-driven systems with Kafka/Redpanda , including partitioning, consumer groups, ordering, retries, idempotency, replay and backpressure.
- Develop reliable messaging, campaign execution and automation services with queues, scheduling, rate limiting and failure recovery.
- Build resilient APIs and webhook integrations that handle duplicate events, out-of-order delivery and third-party failures.
- Design data models and optimize workloads across ClickHouse, MongoDB, PostgreSQL/Amazon RDS and Redis .
- Work on customer-event ingestion, identity resolution, segmentation and analytical pipelines.
- Build and operate services on AWS , with attention to performance, availability and infrastructure cost.
- Own production quality through automated tests, safe deployments, metrics, logs, traces and incident resolution.
- Use AI-assisted engineering for implementation, testing, debugging and documentation—and independently verify the results.
- Contribute to AI/LLM-powered capabilities with appropriate evaluation, security and operational safeguards.

What we’re looking for

- Demonstrated experience building and operating high-scale production systems . Be ready to explain the scale you handled, bottlenecks you solved and trade-offs you made.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in both Go and Node.js , with working knowledge of TypeScript .
- Practical experience with Kafka or Redpanda and asynchronous, distributed processing.
- Hands-on experience with: ClickHouse: analytical queries, event data and query optimization.
- MongoDB: document modelling, indexing and performance.
- PostgreSQL/Amazon RDS: relational modelling, transactions and query tuning.
- Redis: caching, expiry, coordination and queue-backed workloads.
- AWS: deploying, operating and troubleshooting backend services.

- Strong understanding of concurrency, distributed systems, API design and fault tolerance.
- Experience building reliable background jobs and workers; familiarity with Bull/BullMQ or equivalent .
- Strong production debugging skills, including diagnosing consumer lag, slow queries, latency spikes and resource bottlenecks.
- Ability to write maintainable code, meaningful tests and clear technical designs.
- Ownership of outcomes—from design through production—not just implementation.

AI-native engineering and product experience

- Use AI development tools effectively for coding, testing, refactoring and investigation, with disciplined review and verification.
- Experience building an AI/LLM-powered product or a meaningful working prototype is a strong plus.
- Be able to discuss your own contribution, architecture, model choices, evaluation approach, failure cases, latency and cost.
- Familiarity with structured outputs, tool/function calling, retrieval/RAG, agent workflows and safe access to data or actions is valuable.
- Understand how to protect sensitive information and avoid blindly trusting generated code or model responses.

Good to have

- Experience with NestJS, Fastify or Express .
- Experience with Elasticsearch or ScyllaDB/Cassandra .
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry , distributed tracing and production monitoring.
- Experience with AWS services such as SQS, Lambda and S3 .
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, customer-data platforms, messaging systems or Shopify integrations.
- Familiarity with MCP , AI tooling integrations, ETL/orchestration, containers and CI/CD.

### Show us what you’ve built
If you’ve built an AI/LLM product, we’d love to see a demo. Share a working demo, a short screen recording or a repository you’re permitted to share.
Walk us through:
- The problem it solves and what you personally built.
- How the system works beyond the model API call.
- How you evaluate quality and handle failures.
- The trade-offs around latency, cost, security and reliability.

A useful, thoughtfully engineered prototype is welcome—you don’t need to disclose proprietary code or customer data.

### What success looks like
You ship dependable services, solve real scale bottlenecks, improve performance and cost, and own production outcomes. You use AI to move faster while staying accountable for every change you ship.
