- Author, review, and approve technical documentation, including various nuclear safety analyses and evaluation reports.
- Support licensing initiatives by assisting with the preparation of safety basis documents.
- Participate actively in hazard analyses, process design reviews, and configuration management activities.
Criticality Safety & Advanced Reactor Systems:
- Lead, execute, and approve Nuclear Criticality Safety Evaluations (NCSEs) and Nuclear Criticality Safety Analyses (NCSAs) for fuel fabrication, handling, storage, and transportation processes.
- Establish and validate criticality safety limits and engineered/administrative controls (mass, moderation, geometry, reflection, enrichment, and interaction) specifically for small modular reactor systems.
- Advance the development and maintenance of the Criticality Safety Program in strict alignment with ANSI/ANS-8 standards and applicable NRC/DOE regulations.
Neutronics, Shielding & Software Quality Assurance (SQA):
- Apply validated neutronics methodologies and Monte Carlo codes (e.g., MCNP, SCALE/KENO ) to develop or assess margins to criticality, bias, and uncertainty.
- Lead, perform, and approve radiation shielding designs and radiation-transport analyses for fuel fabrication, handling, storage, and transportation.
- Analyze and interpret radiation data to ensure operational safety, shielding effectiveness, and total regulatory compliance.
