Job Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Platform & Multimedia Systems Engineer to evaluate, bring up, and integrate an off-the-shelf compute platform for a high-performance multimedia and streaming application.
The selected platform should support multiple concurrent compute/processing engines (approximately 4 parallel processing instances) and provide the performance required for simultaneous video processing, streaming, and device-control workloads.
The engineer will be responsible for compute-platform evaluation, board bring-up, Linux/BSP enablement, multimedia library integration, streaming pipeline development, HDMI integration, and DRM/HDCP support .
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and select suitable off-the-shelf compute platforms/SoCs based on CPU/GPU/NPU, multimedia, I/O, and streaming requirements.
- Bring up the selected hardware platform and validate all major interfaces.
- Enable and validate Linux BSP, device drivers, firmware, and system software.
- Support multiple concurrent video/compute processing pipelines.
- Integrate third-party and internally developed libraries into the platform.
- Develop and integrate real-time video streaming pipelines .
- Optimize system performance, latency, memory utilization, and bandwidth.
- Integrate and validate HDMI input/output interfaces .
- Support HDMI features including resolution, refresh rate, EDID, hot-plug detection, audio/video synchronization, and link stability.
- Integrate and validate HDCP/DRM content-protection mechanisms .
- Debug HDCP authentication, HDMI handshaking, video-path, and protected-content issues.
- Work with hardware accelerators for video encode/decode and graphics processing.
- Develop APIs and interfaces between the application layer, streaming framework, and underlying hardware.
- Perform system-level debugging across hardware, firmware, drivers, multimedia frameworks, and applications.
- Develop automated platform validation and regression-test scripts.
- Work closely with hardware, firmware, multimedia, streaming, security, and application teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in embedded Linux, multimedia systems, compute-platform bring-up, or video streaming .
- Strong experience with Linux platform/BSP bring-up .
- Experience working with ARM-based or similar high-performance compute platforms.
- Strong understanding of: CPU/GPU/NPU architecture
- Hardware accelerators
- Memory and bandwidth management
- PCIe, USB, Ethernet, and high-speed interfaces
- Experience developing or integrating video streaming pipelines .
- Strong knowledge of HDMI architecture and protocols .
- Hands-on knowledge of HDCP 1.x / HDCP 2.x and protected-content workflows.
- Understanding of Digital Rights Management (DRM) technologies and secure video pipelines.
- Experience integrating third-party SDKs and multimedia libraries.
Software Skills
- Strong programming experience in C/C++
- Python for automation and platform testing
- Linux shell scripting
- Device-driver and system-level debugging
- Git/source-control systems
Preferred Experience
- Qualcomm, NVIDIA Jetson, NXP, AMD/Xilinx, Intel, Broadcom, Rockchip, or similar multimedia compute platforms.
- Multi-stream video processing.
- Hardware video encode/decode acceleration.
- Low-latency streaming.
- Secure boot and trusted execution environments.
- Widevine, PlayReady, or similar DRM frameworks.
- Video capture, transcoding, routing, and distribution systems.
- Experience developing systems that handle multiple HDMI/video endpoints concurrently.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on system engineer capable of taking an off-the-shelf compute module or SoC platform from evaluation through complete product bring-up.
The engineer should be able to identify platform limitations, integrate the required libraries and streaming stack, optimize performance for multiple concurrent workloads, and troubleshoot complex system-level issues across the complete multimedia pipeline.
