Partner closely with R&D, Engineering, and Supply Chain to optimize total cost of ownership, drive cost reduction, standardization, and supplier development while supporting new product introductions. Strengthen supply continuity by expanding the supplier base, implementing dual-sourcing and risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring supplier performance across cost, quality, delivery, and capacity.
Principle Accountabilities:

- Partner with R&D, engineering, and supply chain from the early stages of development to ensure sourcing strategy, supplier selection, and total cost of ownership are aligned with design and business objectives
- Lead negotiations and drive cost-out initiatives through competitive bidding, market/technology scouting, should-cost modeling, and supplier consolidation across the electronic and fiber optic actives category
- Develop and strengthen the electronic and optical component supplier base, and drive dual-sourcing and insourcing initiatives in close collaboration with R&D, engineering, and supply chain
- Screen the global supplier/manufacturer market to identify, qualify, and onboard new potential alternative sources for fiber optic actives and electronic components that meet performance, quality, and cost objectives
- Assess and mitigate supply chain and single-source risk across current and future designs incorporating electronic components and fiber optic actives within the Belden group, building risk mitigation and contingency sourcing plans
- Drive component and supplier standardization across Belden's business units and product portfolios to reduce complexity and strengthen negotiating leverage
- Own supplier performance management—cost, quality, delivery, and capacity—and lead cross-functional business reviews to ensure on-time completion of sourcing deliverables and project milestones
Experience Required:
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a closely related field; technical familiarity with electronic components and/or fiber optic/opto-electronic devices is strongly preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement for electronic components or fiber optic active devices (experience with transceivers, laser/LED components, photodetectors, and/or semiconductor components is a plus); background in supplier negotiation, contract management, or supply chain is valued
- Data-driven approach – High proficiency in cost modeling, market analysis, and negotiation preparation; ability to apply data analytics to drive sourcing decisions and improve supply chain cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Highly organized, disciplined, and analytical with a proactive approach to managing complex supplier relationships; goal-driven and independent, with strong negotiation and interpersonal skills for interdisciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration
