Description

Join a Team That Moves Extraordinary Things.

For more than 100 years, M.S. Rau has built a worldwide reputation for offering museum-quality fine art, antiques, jewelry, and historical treasures. Behind every acquisition, exhibition, and client installation is an exceptional Operations team that ensures these remarkable objects are transported safely and professionally.

M.S. Rau is seeking an experienced Fine Art & Antiques Handler / Driver to join our Operations team. This specialized position is responsible for the safe handling, packing, transportation, and installation of museum-quality fine art, antiques, and other valuable and often irreplaceable objects. The ideal candidate has professional experience in fine art transportation, art handling, specialized packing and crating, or white-glove delivery and installation of high-value furnishings and collectibles.

Unlike traditional delivery positions, this role requires exceptional care, precision, and an understanding of the techniques necessary to protect delicate and valuable objects throughout every stage of transportation and installation. The position involves extensive local and overnight, out-of-town travel using company vehicles, including 24-foot box trucks, as well as supporting warehouse operations, gallery installations, and exhibitions.

Why You'll Love Working Here

At M.S. Rau, you'll become part of a close-knit team dedicated to preserving and presenting some of the world's finest works of art and historical objects. Every day is different - from preparing exhibitions and client installations to transporting extraordinary pieces across the country.

What You'll Do

- Safely handle, pack, load, secure, transport, and unload fine art, antiques, furniture, and other high-value, fragile objects.
- Operate company vehicles, including 24-foot box trucks, for local and long-distance transportation of valuable inventory.
- Perform white-glove deliveries and installations in private residences, galleries, exhibitions, and other professional environments.
- Apply specialized handling, packing, and securing techniques to protect delicate and irreplaceable objects during transportation and installation.
- Pack, crate, and prepare fine art and antiques for shipment, storage, exhibitions, and client deliveries.
- Assist with gallery installations, exhibition setup, trade shows, and special events.
- Execute daily warehouse move sheets, maintain inventory organization, and coordinate priorities with the Logistics personnel and Supervisor.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and assist with fleet cleanliness and maintenance.
- Represent M.S. Rau professionally while interacting with collectors, clients, vendors, and other industry professionals.

- Experience safely packing, handling, securing, transporting, and installing fragile, oversized, or valuable items.
- Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles, with a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight and out-of-town assignments.
- Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and professionalism when interacting with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with a fine art shipping or transportation company, auction house, museum, gallery, or specialized art services provider.
