About this role
Tesla is accelerating the transition to sustainable energy and building a world of amazing abundance. As we rapidly deploy and service Commercial Energy & Charging infrastructure across EMEA, every Supercharger and Megapack depends on technicians having the right tool, in the right condition, at the right time. With the technician team growing around 30% a year, we need an operations specialist to make that happen.
Based at our EMEA hub in Tilburg and part of Operational Excellence & Support Services, you will own tool availability for Energy & Charging Service from requisition through to technicians across the Nordics, Middle East and Africa. You will plan kits for new technicians, manage suppliers, run serialization, calibration and repairs, and keep Tilburg, service centers and future regional hubs to one standard.
This is not a stockroom role. Warehouse and logistics handle receiving and shipping; you set the standards, keep the operation on track, and step in when needed. You will be the day-to-day contact for EMEA tooling suppliers and work with Sr. Supply Chain and Tooling Engineers: they build and decide, you run and track. Many of these processes do not exist yet, so you will build them.
The ideal candidate is a practical problem solver who turns complexity into order, is equally at home in the tooling area and in ERP data, and closes gaps rather than reporting them. The role is based in Tilburg, with occasional travel across EMEA and room to grow as the operation scales.
- Own Tool Availability: Plan replenishment of tooling, spares, consumables, PPE and uniforms using min/max levels and reorder points, raise requisitions from punch-out catalogs, and keep stockouts of critical tools rare.
- Be the Day-to-Day Supplier Contact: Chase deliveries, expedite late or short shipments, and resolve receipt and invoice issues with Procurement and Finance. Ask suppliers to add approved items to catalogs, flag repeat off-catalog purchases, and track supplier delivery and quality.
- Plan & Build Kits: Use the hiring forecast so every new technician's kit is ready before their start date. Build service and Training Center kits to the Tool Matrix, and make sure no incomplete kit ships.
- Run Serialization & Traceability: Make sure every tool above USD 50 is tagged at receipt and traceable through issue, transfer, return and disposal. Lead the cleanup of untagged tools and run regular counts and audits across locations.
- Run Calibration Tracking: Maintain the calibration register, remind field teams of due dates, pull overdue tools from use, and report compliance.
- Manage Repairs & Retrofits: Assess returned tools at Tilburg, perform mechanical repairs, manage warranty and RMA claims with suppliers, document scrapped tools, and track retrofits by serial number.
- Lead the Warehouse Partnership & Network Standards: Agree service levels with our warehouse and logistics team, write standard work for tooling steps such as tagging, packaging and kit checks, and audit and step in where needed. Apply the same standards at service centers and future regional hubs and manage transfers and the shared-tool loan pool.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Own KPIs such as kit-ready-before-start-date, fill rate, inventory accuracy, calibration compliance and repair turnaround, and feed field reality back to engineering to improve tools, suppliers and processes.
- 4+ years of experience in inventory planning, MRO, industrial tooling, spare parts or technical logistics, ideally in a field service or industrial environment.
- Experience raising requisitions and working with purchasing and suppliers to resolve delivery, receipt and invoice issues in an ERP system.
- Strong inventory control skills, including replenishment planning, cycle counting and serialized inventory.
- Experience building kits from a bill of materials with high accuracy.
- Mechanically handy, comfortable with tool inspection, basic maintenance and simple repairs or retrofits.
- Experience managing a warehouse, 3PL or other service provider through service levels and standard work, influencing without direct authority.
- Strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP or WMS systems.
- Clear communication in English, and the ability to work effectively with engineering, procurement, warehouse, training and field teams.
- An ownership mindset: you flag risks early, prefer durable fixes over workarounds, and treat asset integrity and honest inventory reporting as non-negotiable.
- Experience with calibration tracking, Warp, freight packaging or EU cross-border shipping, a forklift license, and Dutch language skills are a plus.
