The Opportunity

We are looking for an Employment Services Community Support Navigator to strengthen participant support across our South Zone WERC programs.

Based in Calgary, you will work directly with participants and collaborate with our program teams in Calgary, Red Deer, and Brooks to help address barriers to employment and connect participants with the community resources they need.

This is a relationship-driven, coordination-focused role. You will help participants navigate available services, strengthen referral connections, and work alongside employment coaches to ensure essential needs are being addressed so participants can focus on building skills and moving toward employment.

Support to our regional locations will be provided virtually, allowing you to collaborate with teams and participants across the South Zone without requiring travel to regional offices.

Key Responsibilities

- Work with participants to identify barriers to employment, including housing, food security, transportation, mental health, addictions, financial stability, and access to essential services.

- Help participants develop practical plans to address immediate needs and work toward greater stability and independence.

- Connect participants with appropriate community resources and assist with referrals, applications, appointments, and service navigation.

- Follow up on referrals and help participants work through challenges accessing services.

- Collaborate virtually ( and in person ) with employment coaches and program teams across Calgary, Red Deer, and Brooks to coordinate participant supports.

- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and service providers across the South Zone.

- Develop and maintain an up-to-date directory of community resources, referral pathways, and eligibility requirements.

- Identify service gaps and work collaboratively with community partners to find practical solutions.

- Maintain accurate participant records, case notes, referrals, and follow-up documentation.

- Share resource information and successful approaches with regional teams to strengthen consistency in participant support.

Qualifications

- Experience in community support, social services, employment services, outreach, case management, or a related field.

- Knowledge of community resources and social support systems is an asset.

- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.

- Comfortable providing support and coordinating services virtually across multiple communities.

- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate with a geographically dispersed team.

- Strong organizational skills, documentation, and follow-through.

- A compassionate, practical, and solution-focused approach to supporting individuals facing barriers.

A diploma or certificate in Social Services, Human Services, Community Support, or a related field is an asset. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

What Success Looks Like

- Participants across the South Zone are connected to appropriate community resources and receive meaningful follow-up.

- Regional program teams have timely access to support, resource information, and referral options.

- Community partnerships and referral pathways are strengthened across central and southern Alberta.

- Barriers to employment are identified and addressed earlier.

- Participants are better positioned to progress toward employment and long-term stability.

At Ballad, we believe in meeting participants where they are and walking alongside them as they work toward where they need to be. If you are passionate about connecting people with opportunity and helping individuals overcome barriers, we would love to hear from you.
