Production Worker/Forklift - Temporary position

Job Type: Temporary - around 3 months

Shift Schedule: M-Th, 6a - 4pm

Salary: $18/hour

Production Worker/Forklift Job Duties

Packaging Operation

- Operation of packaging equipment, including bag feeder, pallet jack and shrink-wrapping machine
- Ensure bags are stacked appropriately on pallets, and are positioned for placement in the warehouse
- Accurate completion of production reports
- Taking pellet samples for quality control testing
- Labeling/tagging wrapped pallets with required quality control information
- Other duties as assigned

Forklift/Warehouse Operation

- Operation of forklift in the warehouse and other production areas to move, transport and stack wrapped pallets of wood pellets in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Operate forklift to load trucks for delivery, ensuring all required paperwork has been filled out and signed
- Count and record pallets for inventory purposes
- Stack junk pallets until they can be disposed of properly
- Maintain communication with co-workers and control room leads on status of work
- Other duties as assigned

Production Worker/Forklift Job Requirements:

- One to two years forklift operation experience in an outdoor setting
- Production line experience in an industrial setting highly preferred
- Will be bending/lifting around 50 lbs bags throughout the shift
- Will be working indoor and outdoor settings
- Will be surrounded by sawdust
- Must possess good eye, hand and foot coordination
- Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time and multi-task
- Ability to immediately understand and react to verbal safety commands, audio alarms, and written hazard alerts in English in a Manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in English to accurately read, interpret, and execute equipment lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) protocols and machine operation manuals.
- Sufficient English verbal skills to clearly and instantly report machine malfunctions, near-misses, or unsafe floor conditions to supervisors and team members.
- This role operates in the immediate vicinity of fast-moving, heavy automated equipment. Clear, real-time communication and strict adherence to English-language safety signage are mandatory for workplace safety.
