About this role

Saronic Technologies is a leader in revolutionizing autonomy at sea, dedicated to developing state-of-the-art solutions that enhance maritime operations through autonomous and intelligent platforms.

Job Overview

The Master Planner owns the overall flow of ship construction across the shipyard, mapping how vessels move through work stations and maintaining the integrated master schedule that ties every trade, program, and facility constraint together. This role defines critical path activities and schedule windows for multi-ship vessel programs, working closely with manufacturing engineering leadership and the facilities team.

Multi-ship shipbuilding programs require a master schedule that reflects real station capacity, resource constraints, and the sequencing dependencies across every trade. The Master Planner ensures the schedule is both ambitious and achievable, and remains a trusted, living document as programs evolve.

This role works closely with the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to define critical path activities and schedule windows, and with the Facilities team to understand the real capabilities and restrictions of every work station in the yard.

Responsibilities

Ship Plan & Flow Management

- Develop and maintain the ship plan showing how each vessel in a multi-ship program moves through the yard's work stations.
- Define work station sequencing and loading across concurrent ship builds, balancing throughput against physical capacity.
- Identify where work for one hull competes with another for the same station, crane, or resource.

Integrated Master Schedule
- Build and maintain the integrated master schedule (IMS), tying structural, piping, electrical, HVAC, machinery, and outfitting work into a single coherent timeline.
- Work with the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering to define critical path activities and schedule windows for each ship and program.
- Keep the schedule current as progress, engineering changes, and resourcing decisions move the plan.

Facilities Coordination
- Work closely with Facilities to understand each work station's physical capabilities and restrictions, including size, weight, crane capacity, access, and utilities.
- Ensure the ship plan never assumes more than a station can deliver.
- Resolve facility or capacity constraints early through resequencing or schedule adjustment.

Schedule Risk & Reporting
- Maintain visibility into schedule health across the program, flagging slippage and resource conflicts to leadership.
- Support what-if scenario planning for schedule compression, added ships, or facility changes.
- Establish planning standards, milestone definitions, and reporting cadence across the organization.

# What Success Looks Like
- Schedule risk is identified early enough to be resolved through resequencing rather than crisis management.
- Multiple concurrent ship programs are sequenced without resource or station conflicts.
- Facility constraints are built into the plan rather than discovered as floor conflicts.
- Leadership can make informed schedule tradeoffs using current, reliable data.

Qualifications

Required

- Hands-on experience in shipyard production planning, scheduling, or master planning, ideally across multiple ship programs.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining an integrated master schedule using CPM-based scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
- Understanding of the full ship construction flow: fabrication, subassembly, unit, block, erection, outfitting, launch, delivery.
- Strong analytical skills in critical path analysis, schedule risk assessment, and capacity/throughput planning.
- Strong communication skills to present schedule risk and tradeoffs clearly to a range of stakeholders.

Preferred

- Experience across multi-ship or multi-program shipbuilding construction.
- Experience with PLM/ERP systems and data integration between scheduling tools and production systems.
- Familiarity with classification society and program milestones (keel lay, launch, trials, delivery).
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
- Experience building schedule health reporting such as dashboards, S-curves, and milestone trackers.

Physical Demands

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Occasional standing and walking within the office
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
- Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports
- Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies
- Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages)
