NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, located in Flushing, New York, is a community teaching hospital affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine, serving Queens and metro New York residents.
The 535-bed tertiary care facility provides services in 14 clinical departments and numerous subspecialties. Annually, 15,000 surgeries and 4,000 infant deliveries are performed at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens.
Opportunity to join our team as a Lead Distribution Clerk reporting to the Materials Management Department. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Orients and trains new staff regarding routes, equipment, and receiving.
- Maintains proactive communication with Asst. Manager(remove Asst) and Supervisor regarding department operations, problems, other service issues.
- Coordinates and performs the pickup and delivery of supplies, packages, etc between the hospital and offsite locations utilizing hospital vehicles or walking routes as required.
- Maintains responsibility for company vehicles, including monitoring registration renewals, coordinating required maintenance and repairs, conducting routine vehicle inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinates the movement of supplies between the warehouse, hospital departments, and offsite locations to support operational needs.
- Assists with receiving, inventory control, stocking, and distribution activities to maintain uninterrupted supply levels throughout the hospital and offsite facilities.
- Provides coverage for assigned hospital units and distribution areas as needed including but not limited to: staff absences, training periods, vacations, or unexpected workload increases.
- Assists team members during periods of high volume, operational surges, special projects, and emergency situations to maintain service standards.
- Promotes a culture of teamwork, safety, accountability, and customer service while supporting departmental goals and performance expectations.
Located at: NYP Queens Hospital-56-45 Main Street-Flushing.
This position will be variable shifts 6:00am-2:00pm with variable weekends.
Preferred Criteria:
- Inventory management experience.
- CDL License
Required Criteria:
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Knowledge of materials management and inventory control practices.
- Ability to operate forklifts jacks, hand trucks and other equipment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary Range:
$33.50-$40.20/Hourly
