Hawaiian Building Maintenance has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual with excellent customer service skills and detailed oriented individual to clean and maintain a commercial location. While previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred, it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for cleaning common areas, maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, and reporting any maintenance issues. -Employee Job Type: Full-time

-Position: Custodian

-Schedule ranges: Monday to Friday 8:36AM - 4:00PM or Monday to Friday 7:00 AM - 4:00PM.

-Number of Hours: 32 to 40-hour work week.

-Hourly Pay Rate: $16.00 to $18.25

-Key Responsibilities:

Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods

Willingness to work under various weather conditions

Strong communication skills, with proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

Ensure that common areas within the building are kept clean and tidy.

Implement a thorough cleaning routine that includes: Sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing, and vacuuming.

Emptying trash and recycling into designated bins (including replacing trash bag liners).

Wiping down surfaces and addressing spills

Pushing trash bins

Oversee grounds maintenance, which includes the pool area, laundry, gym space, sauna, office, lobby, and restrooms with full bathrooms and showers.

Restock supplies as necessary

Operate a leaf blower machine

Utilize a buffer-scrubber machine in high-traffic locations.

Perform additional tasks as assigned by HBM management.

-Skills/Qualifications:

Must pass the HBM prescreen check

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Previous experience in custodial or housekeeping roles is preferred, but training will be provided.

Strong public relations skills and effective communication are essential.

Applicants should be capable of performing basic manual labor, cleaning common areas, and frequently lifting, pushing, pressing, pulling, and carrying a minimum of 30 lbs. (up to 50 lbs.). They must also be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk up and down stairways, use an elevator, and climb up and down a ladder while standing throughout their shifts.
