About this role
Job Summary:
The Live Production Campus Manager leads live production at one campus. This role is the single point of contact for worship, ministry, and live production at the campus, and it owns the technical execution of every service and event there — audio, video, lighting, equipment, and the Serve Team that runs it. It executes the churchwide technical standard rather than setting a separate one, and it holds a dotted line to Central Live Production.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees all elements of live production for services and events at the campus
- Serves as the single point of contact for worship, ministry, and live production at the campus
- Builds and stewards the live production Serve Team at the campus: recruiting, training, scheduling, retention, and appreciation
- Leads, trains, and disciples the campus live production Serve Team both spiritually and professionally
- Manages, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains audio, video, and lighting equipment, systems, and resources at the campus
- Participates in centrally run projects and events, including quarterly stage designs and major ministry events and conferences — delivering the changeover at the campus and contributing to the central build
- First-line fault diagnosis and repair across audio, video and lighting before escalating to the region’s Systems Engineer
- Preventative maintenance on a published cadence, with findings logged
- Executes the churchwide technical standard and raises local realities and exceptions rather than allowing quiet variance
- Coordinates with campus worship and ministry leaders to understand vision and execute events with excellence
- Manages the campus live production budget, expenses, and purchases within the approved threshold
- Maintains working knowledge of event scheduling systems, policies, and processes
- Runs technical rehearsal and pre-service checks, and operates or directs the room during services
- Supports technical needs for funerals, weddings, conferences, and special events at the campus
- Is present and serving at weekend services and churchwide events as the ministry calendar requires
- Maintains strong working knowledge of the audio, video, lighting, and control systems at their location, not only the discipline they operate
- Performs routine and preventative maintenance on the systems they work with
- Diagnoses and resolves first-line faults across audio, video, and lighting rather than escalating by default, and escalates with a clear account of what has already been tested
- Keeps system documentation, patch files, and show files current for their location
- Participates in the training provided by the Systems Engineers and maintains the competence level agreed for the role
- Performs other duties as assigned.
As a member of the Gateway Church team, this position is expected to support, recruit, and develop Serve Team members, and to serve alongside the broader team as ministry and organizational needs arise.
General Skills & Qualifications:
- A clear passion for Jesus and a strong biblical foundation
- Strong working knowledge of audio, video, and lighting systems, live production workflow, and the engineering required to troubleshoot and keep systems operational
- Able to maintain, support, and troubleshoot AVL systems independently, and to recognize when a fault needs an engineer
- Willing to be trained and assessed to an agreed competence standard, and to keep that standard current as systems change
- Working knowledge of all areas of audio, video, and lighting, plus live production administration
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and lead a Serve Team
- High levels of communication with worship, ministry, and Central teams
- Able to take direction on standards from Central while owning execution locally
- Able to function at a high level of effectiveness and calm under live, high-pressure conditions
- Solution-oriented, and able to make decisions with little or no supervision
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to hold several priorities at once
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn and function within new software and systems
Education/Certification(s):
- High school diploma or equivalent, and five or more years of live production experience — required
