About this role
As a Facilities Maintenance & Support Technician at Impulse, you will provide essential daily support across four Mojave sites to ensure facilities are clean, functional, safe, and operationally ready for the workforce. This role combines site readiness, material handling, basic maintenance, grounds support, and contractor/visitor escort responsibilities in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.
The ideal candidate is a dependable, hands‑on technician who thrives in an active field setting, enjoys varied work, and can shift fluidly between maintenance tasks, site support, and logistics. This is a highly operational, boots‑on‑the‑ground role — not a project management position.
Responsibilities
Site Readiness & Workforce Support
- Conduct routine rounds across all sites to verify bathrooms, consumables, hydration supplies, trash handling, and common areas are prepared for the workday.
- Maintain restroom supplies (TP, soap, paper products), stock drinks and water, and monitor consumable inventory.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe workspaces across sites.
Site Access, Escorts & Deliveries
- Meet contractors, vendors, inspectors, and visitors at the remote gate and escort them approximately one mile to designated work areas.
- Receive deliveries, notify the appropriate facilities or project contacts, and assist with staging or routing of materials when trained.
- Support access control, site entry logistics, and urgent facility needs.
Receiving & Material Organization
- Maintain receiving areas as clean, organized staging zones — not long‑term storage.
- Label and identify materials by site, project, or owner; clear obstructions and ensure safe storage practices.
- Address damaged, incorrect, or unclaimed materials and resolve aging inventory issues.
Facilities Maintenance & Ticketing
- Review Facilities tickets and complete maintenance tasks within training and capability. Typical tasks include minor repairs, painting, patching, assembly, hardware, light replacements, and general handyman work.
- Perform weekly maintenance inspections across all sites and generate tickets for identified deficiencies.
- For work beyond capability, document conditions, take photos, make safe if required, and escalate appropriately.
Facilities Project Support
- Support field execution of construction, maintenance, and improvement projects. Tasks include layout assistance, measurements, marking, verification, staging materials, and area prep.
- Assist with punch‑list tasks, cleanup, and project-area organization.
- Install temporary signage, barriers, and assist with mobilization for project teams.
Grounds, Dust Control & Site Conditions
- Perform routine exterior upkeep including weed abatement, vegetation control, debris removal, and minor grading or cleanup tasks.
- Support dust‑control activities when trained and authorized.
- Monitor fencing, access routes, signage, gates, and overall site conditions for safety and functionality.
Safety, Communication & Documentation
- Follow all safety, PPE, environmental, and site‑access protocols.
- Report unsafe conditions, leaks, damage, equipment issues, or other facilities concerns promptly.
- Provide clear updates on completed work, open items, supply needs, and escalating issues.
- Interact professionally with employees, contractors, vendors, and delivery personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 Years Experience in facilities, construction, property maintenance, warehouse/receiving, groundskeeping, or similar hands‑on work.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites with shifting priorities.
- Competence with basic hand and power tools.
- Physically capable of outdoor work including walking, lifting, loading/unloading, and site maintenance tasks.
- Strong reliability, situational awareness, and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in aerospace, industrial, or construction environments.
- Forklift, UTV, water truck, or similar equipment experience (training can be provided).
- Basic painting, light maintenance, or handyman skills.
- OSHA training or related safety certifications.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems or maintenance ticket workflows.
What Success Looks Like
- All sites are consistently prepared for workforce arrival each day.
- Deliveries, escorts, and site logistics are handled smoothly without unnecessary escalations.
- Maintenance issues are addressed promptly; escalated items include clear documentation and photos.
- Receiving areas remain organized, safe, and free of buildup.
- The technician proactively identifies issues before they become operational problems.
