About this role

Job Title: BOM Coordinator Job Description The BOM Coordinator creates, maintains, and controls detailed Bills of Material (BOMs) for complex robotic workcells and material handling systems. This role supports engineering change management processes, collaborates closely with cross-functional engineering and design teams, and ensures accurate project deliverables throughout the Stage Gate process. The position focuses on electro-mechanical assemblies, documentation control, and the integration of third-party equipment into automated systems. Responsibilities

- Create and maintain detailed Bills of Material (BOMs) for robotic workcells, material handling equipment such as lifts, turn tables, case tippers, pushers, conveyors, safety components, and other electro-mechanical components and devices.
- Develop and manage BOM structures for large electro-mechanical assemblies and systems, including multi-level BOMs with numerous unique sub-components and line items.
- Create and process Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) for robotic palletizing and de-palletizing cells, including associated drawing releases and updates to BOMs.
- Develop and maintain tools and calculators to support change management activities, including tracking deviations between as-designed and as-built configurations, installation or manufacturing redlines, and retrofits to existing installations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and design teams to compile and validate data required for accurate BOM documentation.
- Document and manage third-party equipment integrated into robotic cells, ensuring proper representation in BOMs and related documentation.
- Identify and document recommended spare parts lists (RSPL) to support ongoing maintenance and reliability of installed systems.
- Support project teams in releasing accurate and complete project deliverables in alignment with the established Stage Gate process.
- Maintain strong document control practices to ensure BOMs, drawings, and change records are consistent, traceable, and up to date.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of BOM and change management processes, tools, and documentation standards.

Essential Skills

- Minimum of 2 years of experience creating and maintaining Bills of Material for large electro-mechanical assemblies and systems, including multi-level BOM structures with thousands of unique sub-components and tens of thousands of lines.
- Demonstrated experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Teamcenter or comparable PLM platforms.
- Strong experience in bill of material management and document control for engineering environments.
- Understanding of mechanical and electro-mechanical components used in material handling and automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a schedule-driven environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering and design teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

- Ability to use SolidWorks for viewing and working with mechanical models and drawings is a plus.
- Experience with PLM Teamcenter specifically is highly desirable.
- Experience in material handling systems and/or automation systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with robotic palletizing and de-palletizing cells is beneficial.
- Comfort with developing and using tools and calculators to support engineering change and configuration management.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel to client and customer locations as needed.

Work Environment The role primarily operates in an engineering and office environment, working closely with design and engineering teams and using PLM systems such as Teamcenter, SolidWorks, and other documentation tools. The position may involve reviewing mechanical drawings and electro-mechanical assemblies related to robotic workcells, conveyors, and material handling equipment. Up to approximately 10% travel may be required, including driving or flying to client and customer locations to support projects and installations. The work follows a schedule-driven project environment with established Stage Gate processes and emphasizes accurate documentation, collaboration, and adherence to engineering standards.
