About this role
Senior Global Manufacturing Test Engineer
Camera & Optical Systems
Position Summary:
Responsible for developing, industrializing, validating, deploying, and sustaining software
for optical testing, calibration, active alignment, functional testing, and environmental/burn-in
testing of camera products in high-volume manufacturing. Acts as the technical bridge between
R&D, Site Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, equipment suppliers, and global production sites.
Translates R&D test methods, algorithms, and prototype tools into robust, maintainable,
production-ready solutions that meet requirements for test coverage, reliability, cycle time,
traceability, and global scalability.
Core Ownership:
Provide global technical ownership of manufacturing test software & hardware
architecture, standards, release practices, and lifecycle while partnering with R&D on product
and test-method requirements. Own the manufacturing implementation, correlation, production
robustness, controlled release, and sustaining support of these solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with R&D to develop and mature test methods and translate prototype
algorithms/tools into HVM-ready test solutions.
Architect, develop, validate, deploy, and sustain standardized manufacturing test,
calibration, and active-alignment software platforms globally.
Define production test requirements including test sequence, coverage, pass/fail logic,
test limits, configuration control, data collection, diagnostics, error handling, cycle time,
and traceability.
Integrate software with cameras, imaging hardware, optical and active-alignment
equipment, instrumentation, motion systems, environmental equipment, PLCs,
automation systems, and manufacturing data interfaces.
Design software for HVM robustness, including initialization/self-test, timeout handling,
fault detection, controlled retries/recovery, health monitoring, service modes, and
actionable logging.
Establish R&D-to-manufacturing and station-to-station correlation; support reference-unit
strategies, repeatability and measurement system analysis (MSA), as applicable, and
false-pass/false-fail analysis.
Ensure test results are traceable to the applicable software version, test configuration and
limits, calibration data, and equipment configuration; support MES and manufacturing data
interfaces as applicable.
Optimize test processes to improve cycle time, equipment utilization, uptime,
manufacturing test yield, and process capability.
Define software and interface requirements for RFQs, perform supplier technical
evaluations, and support design reviews, system integration, FAT/SAT, production launch,
and software acceptance and ongoing test software lifecycle support and maintenance.
Analyze production test data and system logs, troubleshoot systemic test issues, and drive
corrective actions while providing global sustaining support.
Maintain software architecture and interface specifications, release documentation,
troubleshooting guides, and training and support materials.
Apply structured software-development practices, including source control, code review,
unit and integration testing, controlled builds and releases, and defect and change
tracking.

process capability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a structured approach to problem
solving.
Ability to work effectively across R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, IT/OT teams,
equipment suppliers, and global production sites.
Experience working with equipment suppliers through system integration, FAT/SAT, and
production launch is preferred.
TRAVEL
An initial on-site training assignment at the California R&D location of up to six months
will be required. Following completion of initial training, periodic travel may be required to
support software updates, test process improvements, troubleshooting, production line
changes, and other activities requiring on-site execution.
