About this role
Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we're looking for talented people who want to help.
You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
We're seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead AI transformation across APAC Data Center Planning & Delivery. You will work with business owners in each of our five verticals to turn AI capabilities into measurable improvements in planning and delivery. Business impact will guide the roadmap, from workflow changes to the products teams use every day.
You will be APAC DCPD's accountable lead for collaboration with counterparts in the Americas (AMER) and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Together, you will identify opportunities to reuse and scale shared AI solutions where business needs align.
Our AI solutions are already in production. You will establish and lead a central AI solutions hub for the agreed portfolio, consolidating overlapping solutions and developing reusable products. The hub combines a shared catalogue with product-lifecycle and governance mechanisms, using existing approved tools and agreed team responsibilities. It covers maintenance and enhancement priorities after rollout.
You will set change-management direction with process owners and define the mechanisms that turn approved AI capabilities into improved business outcomes. Business champions and enablement teams will deliver agreed communications, training and rollout activities. You will review results and remove barriers, using sustained use and feedback to explain where products or workflows need to improve.
Practical knowledge of AI product design and development is essential. You will guide technical decisions on data integration, model evaluation and deployment requirements, and build selected prototypes to validate approaches. You will work with senior engineering leaders across platforms to prioritise features and connectors that unblock AI development, deployment and integration. We prefer candidates who have deployed AI products for business users, especially on AWS.
You will own the regional governance framework and retain responsibility for portfolio evolution after launch. Engineering and service owners will implement, maintain and operate products under agreed responsibilities and capacity. Security and data owners retain approval authority. You will report time saved, quality and throughput improvements, and cost savings or avoidance against agreed baselines, using measures relevant to each initiative. Assess benefits alongside operating costs and the effort needed to review or correct AI outputs.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead the APAC AI transformation roadmap across five verticals. Prioritise opportunities by business value, readiness, technical feasibility, cost and risk.
- Own APAC DCPD's collaboration with AMER and EMEA to identify opportunities for reuse and scaling of shared AI solutions.
- Establish the central AI solutions hub using approved tools and agreed team responsibilities. Lead portfolio consolidation, maintenance, enhancement and retirement, with named owners and lifecycle commitments.
- Set change-management direction with process owners and enablement teams. Redesign workflows and use feedback to improve business results.
- Own regional AI governance, risk reviews and evaluation criteria. Security and data owners retain approvals. Require read-only agents by default, with human approval and audit logging for changes to systems of record.
- Guide AI product design and build selected prototypes. Work with senior engineering leaders across platforms to prioritise features and connectors that unblock development, deployment and integration.
- Lead cross-functional delivery, resolve dependencies and agree operational ownership. Measure time saved, quality, throughput and cost savings or avoidance against baselines, accounting for operating costs and human review effort. Recommend what to scale, improve or stop.
