About this role

Asia's leading robotics solutions provider, automating enterprise supply chains since 2017. Botsync is a Singapore-based robotics and automation company building autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and intelligent orchestration software that transform warehouse and factory operations across APAC. Founded in 2017, we design, manufacture, and deploy intelligent robots - including our MAG series - that handle material movement at scale, so humans can focus on higher-value work.

Alongside our hardware, we've built syncOS, the industry's first no-code, vendor-agnostic orchestration and fleet management platform that coordinates robots, industrial systems, and workflows across modern facilities - turning weeks-long deployments into hours, without halting production or calling in specialists.

Today we're still that young, passionate team - just with more like-minded people who've joined us along the way. We're all obsessed with one thing: making robotics and automation simpler, faster to adapt, and more reliable on real factory floors.

If you love robots, hate inefficiency, and want to build things that actually run in production - you'll fit right in.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Own the QC Engineering function end to end for Botsync's AMR portfolio, defining the quality strategy, operating model, priorities, standards, and continuous-improvement roadmap.
- Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of 3-5 QC/Engineering professionals; set goals, allocate work, review outcomes, and build succession and capability plans.
- Own workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, training, development, and retention for the QC team in partnership with Talent Acquisition and Engineering leadership.
- Translate product, production, and deployment roadmaps into risk-based test strategies, validation plans, resourcing, acceptance criteria, and release milestones.
- Establish and govern quality gates across hardware bring-up, software integration, simulation, Factory Acceptance Testing, regression, reliability, safety, and shipment release.
- Chair release-readiness and defect-triage reviews, provide the independent quality go/no-go recommendation, and ensure critical risks have accountable owners and mitigation plans.
- Act as the final escalation owner for critical quality incidents and factory or customer issues, leading containment, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive action, and effectiveness verification.
- Define and track quality KPIs - including first-pass yield, defect escape, test coverage, reliability, rework, and closure cycle time - and present trends, risks, and actions to leadership.
- Partner with Engineering, Product and Project teams to eliminate systemic defects and embed prevention into design and production.
- Own QC documentation and traceability, including test protocols, FAT evidence, issue logs, release records, engineering changes, and audit-ready records.
- Drive test automation, lab and tooling readiness, process standardization, and quality engagement with manufacturing partners in China and Southeast Asia to scale consistent, deployment-ready outcomes.

Requirements

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

- 8-12 years of experience in AMR, mobile robotics, industrial automation, or a closely related engineering environment, including experience leading Quality or Engineering teams.

- Strong understanding of robot hardware including motor controllers, encoders, LiDARs, sensors, and safety systems.

- Proficiency in Linux, ROS, C++, and Python for robotics software integration and troubleshooting.

- Hands-on experience with robot system integration, hardware-software debugging, and issue resolution in production environments.

- Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing, commissioning, or on-site deployment activities.

- Demonstrated experience building and leading a team of 3-5 junior engineers in Quality or Engineering, including participation in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance development.

- Proven ability to own QC processes end to end, allocate work effectively, handle technical escalations, and coordinate independently with manufacturing partners.

- Familiarity with networking and industrial communication protocols such as CAN, Modbus, and related systems.

- Willingness and ability to travel regularly to China and Southeast Asia based on business requirements.
