About this role

- Bring together your Financial Crime expertise and passion for people leadership.

- Lead a Financial Crime team through one of the most significant periods of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing change.

- Full-time permanent opportunity based in Parramatta, NSW

This is an opportunity to step into a key people leadership role within the Financial Crime team at a time of significant regulatory and operational change.

About the role

As Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing reforms continue to evolve, the scope and complexity of customer screening reviews are expanding. With additional capability being built within our Customer Screening function, we’re looking for a Team Manager who can combine credible Financial Crime and Enhanced Customer Due Diligence knowledge with engaging, hands-on leadership.

Leading a team that includes a senior team member, you’ll be the coach and steady guide your people rely on, giving them the direction and support to succeed as regulatory requirements, processes and ways of working change.

This is more than a traditional BAU leadership role. You’ll help translate regulatory change into meaningful operational impacts, creating clarity for your team and bringing them with you as the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing environment continues to evolve.

Key responsibilities:

You’ll create a highly engaged and well-supported team environment, while maintaining a strong focus on performance, controls and customer outcomes.

- Lead, coach and develop your team, building capability through regular one-to-ones, performance conversations and visible day-to-day leadership.

- Maintain oversight of team performance, controls and reporting, understanding where outcomes aren't being achieved and driving appropriate action.

- Build a strong understanding of the evolving Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing requirements, translating changes into clear operational impacts for your team.

- Guide your people through ongoing regulatory, process and technology change, creating clarity and engagement as ways of working evolve.

- Partner with Change & Delivery, Policy and Project teams, contributing an operational perspective and supporting the successful implementation of change.

About you:

Financial Crime knowledge is at the heart of this role. You understand how regulatory change translates into day-to-day operational impacts. And, importantly, you know how to bring people with you through change.

Demonstrated Enhanced Customer Due Diligence experience within Financial Crime is essential. Experience in Customer Due Diligence, Customer Screening, Transaction Monitoring or Ongoing Due Diligence will be highly regarded.

Ideally, you’ll already have established people leadership experience, with the ability to coach, motivate and develop a team while confidently managing performance and operational outcomes.

You’ll be someone who can balance technical credibility with genuine people leadership, creating clarity when requirements are evolving and helping your team remain engaged, confident and focused on delivering quality outcomes.
