About this role
The Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) Solution Architect is an advanced individual contributor responsible for designing, configuring, integrating, and continuously improving OPC solutions that support Global Program Controls and large-scale data center infrastructure delivery. This role combines deep knowledge of Oracle Primavera Cloud, project and program controls, scheduling, cost management, data architecture, and systems integration. The architect works autonomously across a broad range of moderately complex initiatives and partners with Program Controls, Construction, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Technology, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a major impact on the immediate team and a meaningful impact across the broader organization by improving system capabilities, standardizing program controls processes, increasing data quality, and enabling more consistent portfolio-level visibility. The role may lead projects, workstreams, standards, and improvement initiatives and is expected to mentor junior team members and provide oversight on technical execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable Oracle Primavera Cloud solutions supporting planning, scheduling, cost management, risk, change, portfolio management, and performance reporting.
- Translate business and program controls requirements into functional designs, system configurations, workflows, data structures, and integration requirements.
- Develop and maintain OPC workspace, program, project, and portfolio architecture aligned with organizational standards.
- Define project templates, coding structures, calendars, cost breakdown structures, reporting hierarchies, configured fields, workflows, and security models.
- Evaluate OPC capabilities and recommend solutions based on business requirements, system limitations, implementation effort, risk, and long-term maintainability.
- Maintain architecture, configuration, and operating documentation to support consistent deployment and support.
Program Controls Enablement
- Partner with Program Controls stakeholders to design OPC solutions supporting planning and scheduling; baseline and forecast management; milestone management; cost and budget control; forecasting and cash flow; change and contingency management; risk management; progress measurement; and portfolio and program reporting.
- Ensure OPC configurations support standardized controls processes while allowing appropriate flexibility for regional, program, and project-specific requirements.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes, improve data consistency, and increase automation across program controls workflows.
- Support development and implementation of consistent project controls standards across projects, regions, and delivery partners.
Scheduling and Planning
- Apply advanced scheduling knowledge to OPC solution design, including Critical Path Method scheduling, schedule logic, float, constraints, baselines, progress updates, and forecast scenarios.
- Support integration and alignment between OPC and Primavera P6 where required.
- Develop standards for milestone structures, schedule coding, calendars, activity structures, and schedule reporting.
- Assist teams in identifying schedule quality issues and improving consistency of planning and schedule data.
Cost and Change Management
- Configure and support OPC capabilities for budgets, forecasts, commitments, actuals, cash flow, cost breakdown structures, and change management.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, and Program Controls teams to define appropriate cost-data flows and reconciliation processes.
- Support consistent approaches for tracking forecast variance, contingency, exposure, changes, and project financial performance.
- Ensure cost-control configurations align with portfolio and executive reporting requirements.
Systems Integration and Data Architecture
- Define integration requirements between OPC and enterprise platforms such as ERP, Primavera P6, procurement, contract management, data warehouses, reporting platforms, and other project controls systems.
- Partner with engineering and integration teams on API-based and batch integrations.
- Define mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and exception-handling requirements.
- Apply working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, SQL, data models, and enterprise integration concepts.
- Support definition of system-of-record responsibilities and data ownership across the program controls technology ecosystem.
- Troubleshoot integration, configuration, and data-quality issues and coordinate resolution across functional and technical teams.
Reporting and Analytics
- Translate leadership and program controls reporting requirements into scalable OPC and enterprise reporting solutions.
- Define consistent metrics, calculations, thresholds, and reporting logic for schedule, cost, risk, change, and portfolio performance.
- Support development of dashboards and reports for project, program, regional, and portfolio-level decision-making.
- Partner with analytics and data teams to ensure downstream reporting accurately reflects OPC source data and business rules.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and executive visibility.
Solution Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Establish and maintain standards for OPC configuration, security, data structures, workflows, and reporting.
- Participate in governance processes for system changes, enhancements, releases, and configuration updates.
- Assess enhancement requests and recommend solutions based on business value, complexity, risk, and maintainability.
- Lead small- to medium-scale innovation and process-improvement initiatives; experiment with new approaches, evaluate alternatives, and recommend solutions based on potential benefits and impacts.
- Identify recurring issues and drive root-cause resolution rather than relying on tactical workarounds.
- Contribute to OPC roadmap development and prioritization.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Work closely with Program Controls, Construction, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Technology, and related teams.
- Facilitate discovery sessions, requirements workshops, solution-design reviews, and technical discussions.
- Proactively solicit ideas, feedback, and perspectives from diverse stakeholders when developing solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and provide recommendations that support management decisions affecting the immediate team and related functions.
- Build effective working relationships across Lines of Business and increasingly engage leadership, technology partners, vendors, and external delivery partners.
- Resolve competing requirements by evaluating alternatives, impacts, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
Implementation and Delivery
- Lead or support OPC implementation and enhancement workstreams from requirements through production deployment.
- Develop functional and technical specifications, configuration documentation, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
- Support configuration, data migration, testing, user acceptance testing, deployment, and post-production stabilization.
- Coordinate technical and functional activities across internal teams, external vendors, and system integrators.
- Identify implementation risks, dependencies, and issues and drive appropriate mitigation and resolution.
- Ensure delivered solutions meet agreed functional, technical, data-quality, security, and operational requirements.
Team Contribution and Mentorship
- Serve as a subject matter resource for OPC and related program controls technologies.
- Mentor junior analysts, system administrators, and team members on OPC capabilities, configuration standards, and program controls practices.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance on assigned tasks and workstreams.
- Review solution designs and configurations and provide constructive feedback.
- Share best practices, lessons learned, reusable configurations, and implementation patterns across the team.
- Help build organizational capability and consistency in OPC architecture and administration.
