About this role

Overview

As a Software Developer II on the Smart Water pod, you will build the customer-facing Smart Water experience inside the RealPage Smart Building Portal and the services behind it. You will work across an Angular front end and C#/.NET 8 Web APIs over MSSQL, integrating meter and usage data from upstream systems.

A core part of the mission is making Smart Water scale: replacing today's manual, PME-driven onboarding with automated, self-service workflows, hardening the data-ingestion pipeline, and building water-usage anomaly detection that flags running toilets, continuous-flow fixtures, and abnormal consumption for operators.

This role suits a developer with a few years of full-stack experience who wants to own medium-sized features end to end in a small, high-ownership pod and grow into the product's AI roadmap (a Smart Water MCP that powers a Lumina Copilot).

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

- Build and maintain Smart Water features across an Angular front end and C#/.NET 8 Web APIs over MSSQL.

- Integrate meter, usage, and occupancy data from upstream systems and improve the reliability of the ingestion pipeline.

- Develop water-usage anomaly detection that surfaces sustained anomalies (running toilets, continuous-flow fixtures, abnormal usage) from interval meter data.

- Replace manual, PME-driven onboarding with automated, self-service setup and data-management workflows.

- Surface Smart Water inside the Smart Building Portal (SBP) and contribute to the Smart Water MCP that powers Lumina AI workflows.

- Write clean, well-tested code and partner closely with the pod's QA engineer on quality and data integrity.

Qualifications

This is a full-stack role on a C#/.NET 8 and Angular codebase backed by MSSQL.

- 2+ years building production software, full-stack or backend-leaning.

- Proficiency in C#/.NET (ASP.NET Web API) and solid SQL / relational data-modeling skills (MSSQL).

- Front-end experience with Angular or a similar modern framework.

- Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs and working with upstream/third-party data sources.

- Comfort writing tested, maintainable code and working in a CI/CD workflow (Azure DevOps).

- Extensive hands-on experience with Claude Code or a similar agentic coding harness (required).

- Demonstrated experience with agentic coding workflows — using AI coding agents as part of day-to-day development (required).

Preferred Skills but not required

- Experience with data-pipeline / ingestion work and diagnosing data-quality issues.

- Exposure to IoT, metering, or utility/submetering domains.

- Experience with ElasticSearch.

- Interest in applied AI — building MCP servers or LLM-powered features (e.g., a Lumina Copilot).

- Familiarity with OIDC / single sign-on integration.
