About this role

Overview

Jhpiego, an international non-profit health organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, is dedicated to saving lives and improving health outcomes across Ethiopia. Under the Strategic Assistance Project for Health Workforce Competency and Quality Improvement (HRH Activity), Jhpiego provides strategic technical assistance to strengthen human resources for health systems. The activity addresses critical national challenges, including health workforce competency gaps, pre-service education quality, continuing professional development (CPD) accreditation, health workforce retention and motivation, and digital human resource information systems (iHRIS).

To ensure effective, decentralized implementation of project activities across project implementation areas, the project utilizes a strategic Hub Implementation Model—grouping regional structures, higher education institutions (HEIs), regional health science colleges, and health facilities into interconnected hubs for streamlined execution, localized coordination, and adaptive learning. Jhpiego is seeking a highly experienced Hub Implementation Manager to join the HRH Activity team. Serving as a key implementation management lead, the Hub Implementation Manager will coordinate and monitor day-to-day implementation across hub teams, ensure hub-level workplans and timelines remain aligned with the overall project workplan and milestones, track progress and partner deliverables, and facilitate timely identification and escalation of implementation bottlenecks to the Technical Director and Project Director. The position will also coordinate and monitor local implementing partners, including professional associations, to ensure assigned activities are implemented as planned across target institutions and geographic areas. The role will support consistent implementation monitoring, documentation, learning, and adaptive action across hubs, while technical direction and quality assurance remain with the respective project technical leads.
