About the Role
Howden is seeking an experienced and driven Producer to join our growing U.S. business in South Carolina. The Producer will be responsible for developing new client relationships, generating revenue, and delivering insurance and risk management solutions tailored to clients’ needs.
Depending on experience and specialization, this role may focus on Property & Casualty (P&C), Health & Benefits (H&B), or a combination of solutions. The successful candidate will bring strong business development capabilities, an established network, and the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to identify and secure new clients
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients through networking, referrals, industry relationships, and targeted outreach
- Develop a thorough understanding of prospective and existing clients’ businesses, exposures, objectives, and insurance or employee benefits needs
- Partner with broking, account management, analytics, claims, and other internal teams to develop and deliver solutions for clients
- Present insurance, risk management, and/or employee benefits strategies to prospective and existing clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and decision-makers
- Identify opportunities to expand client relationships by introducing additional Howden capabilities and solutions
- Maintain an understanding of relevant insurance markets, products, carrier capabilities, industry trends, and emerging risks
- Support the renewal and ongoing servicing process in partnership with account management and broking teams
- Maintain accurate and timely records of prospecting and business development activity
- Represent Howden at industry events, conferences, networking opportunities, and client meetings
- Conduct business in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and Howden policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in insurance brokerage, employee benefits, risk management, business development, or a related field
- Proven ability to develop new business and build lasting client relationships
- Strong network within relevant industries, markets, or client segments preferred
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to understand complex client needs and translate them into practical solutions
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across broking, account management, and specialty teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities
- Appropriate insurance license(s), or ability to obtain required licensing, based on area of specialization and applicable requirements
Compensation and Benefits
This position is eligible to participate in Howden’s compensation programs, which may include base salary and incentive compensation based on individual production and other applicable criteria. Specific compensation arrangements will be determined based on the individual’s experience, qualifications, and applicable Howden compensation plan.
