Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.
About the role:
Are you caring, flexible and motivated, with the ability to build trusting relationships and support people through challenging times?
Do you believe that everyone should have the opportunity to develop their skills, confidence and independence?
If so, we’d love you to join our team as a Recovery Worker at our Redcar and Cleveland Supported Housing service.
Our service provides accommodation and tailored support for adults experiencing mental health difficulties. We work alongside individuals to help them develop the skills and confidence needed to manage their mental health, maintain their tenancy and work towards greater independence.
Support is personalised to each individual, recognising their strengths, needs and aspirations. This includes developing coping strategies, managing finances and daily living tasks, accessing relevant services and exploring opportunities for education, volunteering, employment and meaningful activities within the community.
As a Recovery Worker, you’ll play an important role in delivering this support, helping people take positive steps towards their recovery and future goals.
This is a permanent, part-time position working 22 hours per week. Working hours are arranged on a rota basis and will include sleepovers, weekend working and on-call duties. Flexibility and a willingness to work as part of a team are essential.

- Work collaboratively with individuals, colleagues and external professionals to ensure support is coordinated and responsive to changing needs.
- Support individuals to explore move-on accommodation and take steps towards greater independence.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to support planning and follow organisational policies and procedures.
- Participate in the rota, including sleepovers, weekend working and on-call duties, helping to ensure appropriate support is available when needed.
