Material Handler / Custom Tool Repair

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

- Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and work instructions to determine product specifications, dimensions, tolerances, tooling requirements, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and sequence of operations.

- Set up and operate machine equipment, including fixtures and feeding devices, according to job specifications.

- Monitor machining operations and inspect workpieces to ensure finished parts meet required specifications, quality standards, and tolerances.

- Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on equipment; identify and report equipment or machine repair needs.

- Set up and operate welding equipment and perform light welding and repair work as needed.

- Receive incoming materials and shipments, unload trucks, inspect materials for damage, verify packing slips, and confirm quantities against purchase orders.

- Monitor and maintain steel and raw material inventory, ensuring the correct materials are staged and delivered to the appropriate work centers when needed.

- Pick, cut, and prepare materials according to blueprints, pick lists, production orders, and bills of materials (BOMs).

- Move and stage raw materials, parts, and supplies in designated warehouses, production, or assembly locations using appropriate material-handling equipment.

- Maintain accurate inventory records by entering receipts, material movements, and cycle-count adjustments into the ERP system.

- Follow all company safety policies, quality-system requirements, work procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Education and/or Experience:
Equivalent to high school education or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
