We are seeking a Network Security Engineer in Cluj-Napoca, Romania , with a hybrid setup (3 days in the office per week).

Key responsibilities of the role:

- Design, implement, and maintain secure network security architectures across enterprise and site environments.
- Plan and execute network segmentation initiatives to reduce attack surface and improve security posture.
- Assist with deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
- Monitor network security events and support incident response and threat remediation activities.
- Develop and maintain firewall policies, security rules, and change management procedures
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to ensure alignment with security standards.
- Performs cybersecurity assessments, monitoring, and implementation of security controls across OT/ICS environments to protect industrial operations and ensure system availability.
- Support global security programs and site implementations.
- Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.

Required qualifications and experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, Networking, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in network security engineering or network infrastructure security roles
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (Panorama preferred)
- Strong understanding of network segmentation strategies and secure network design principles
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Experience with routing, switching, VPN technologies, and network troubleshooting
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST 800-82, or IEC 62443

Preferred qualifications and experience:

- Experience working in Operational Technology (OT) / Industrial Control Systems (ICS) environments
- Exposure to manufacturing, energy, or critical infrastructure networks
- Experience implementing IT-OT segmentation or site firewall rollouts
- Palo Alto certifications (PCNSE preferred)
- Security certifications such as Security+
