Position Overview
Zachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to support major Power and Industrial projects in Houston, TX. This role serves as a Responsible Engineer and technical leader , supporting the design and execution of complex steel, concrete, and foundation systems for power generation and industrial facilities.
The Senior Engineer will lead engineering efforts, mentor developing engineers, and collaborate with clients, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 10+ years of civil/structural engineering experience supporting Power, Energy, or Industrial projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Strong knowledge of structural steel, reinforced concrete, and foundation design
- Proficiency with STAAD.Pro, RISA, Enercalc, or similar structural analysis software
- Thorough understanding of AISC, ACI, and applicable building codes
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline
- Structural Engineer (SE) license
- EPC, design-build, or heavy industrial project experience
- Construction support and field engineering experience
