Job Description
The Senior Execution Project Manager is accountable for leading the end‑to‑end execution of highly complex, high‑value, or strategically critical equipment packages. This role ensures delivery in alignment with project schedule, budget, commercial obligations, and technical requirements while upholding the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality, and Security (SHEQS).
The Senior Execution Project Manager provides advanced technical judgment, commercial acumen, and cross-functional leadership to drive packages from concept and design through fabrication, regulatory compliance, installation, commissioning, and final handover.
This role serves as a senior subject matter expert and key decision-maker, proactively identifying risks, execution gaps, and opportunities, and developing mitigation and recovery strategies in collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Project Controls, and Project Leadership teams.
The position provides authoritative reporting and insights on package performance, risks, cost exposure, and schedule outlook for the Project Director, Project Management Team, and, when required, Corporate Management.

Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities

Strategic Equipment Execution & Delivery

• Lead execution of complex, high-criticality, or first-of-a-kind equipment packages, ensuring alignment with overarching project strategy.

• Develop and implement advanced execution strategies to manage technical complexity, long-lead items, and dynamic project conditions.

• Oversee and enforce Configuration Management principles and ensure all changes follow strict change control processes.

• Direct the application of design-for-manufacturing principles, particularly for FOAK components or platforms requiring advanced engineering stewardship.

• Validate manufacturability, transportation, installation, and commissioning constraints before commercial award, escalating gaps requiring leadership decision.

• Ensure quality requirements, inspection regimes, and regulatory obligations are integrated across all stages of execution and are met prior to package handover.

• Own performance against bid basis cost and schedule, driving early identification of deviations and implementing senior-level intervention or recovery plans.

Project Reporting, Governance & Controls

• Deliver accurate, executive-level reporting, including forward‑looking assessments and scenario-based projections.

• Maintain comprehensive and auditable records of all cost, commitments, changes, and forecast assumptions.

• Partner with Project Controls leadership to validate trends, quantify schedule risks, and ensure forecast integrity.

• Shape installation and commissioning strategies by coordinating with schedulers and field execution teams.

Risk, Opportunity & Change Management

• Lead identification and quantification of strategic risks and opportunities across assigned packages.

• Serve as a senior authority for the Management of Change process, ensuring impacts are fully understood, documented, and communicated.

• Develop contingency strategies, lead root-cause analysis, and contribute to enterprise-wide lessons learned programs.

Stakeholder, Supplier & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Serve as the senior interface with internal and external stakeholders including executive-level client representatives, EPC contractors, suppliers, and cross-functional leaders.

• Lead high-impact project meetings, supplier negotiations, technical alignment sessions, and resolution of critical issues.

• Escalate and resolve complex supplier, technical, commercial, and contractual challenges, leveraging strong decision-making authority.

• Oversee formal project correspondence and ensure alignment with contractual, legal, and commercial expectations.

Technical & Commercial Governance

• Review and validate complex supplier contracts, bid evaluations, technical specifications, and commercial proposals.

• Direct prioritization and flow of engineering and supplier documentation to ensure schedule adherence.

• Engage end users and technical authorities to ensure operational requirements are fully met and integrated into design and execution packages.

Job Profile Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.

• Typically demonstrated by 12+ years of relevant experience in complex technical, equipment, or fabrication project execution.

• Proven leadership in managing large‑scale, high‑value, FOAK, or technically complex project packages.

• Deep understanding of equipment design, manufacturing, fabrication processes, regulatory frameworks, and quality assurance.

• Significant experience working with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, and Project Controls organizations.

• Demonstrated ability to manage cost, schedule, risk, and technical interfaces at a senior level.

• Expertise with project management systems, reporting platforms, and governance processes.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience reporting to senior executives.

• Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
