About this role

📆 9 month fixed-term contract starting ASAP

🤝 Reports to Finance Director

📍 London (in office 3 days/ week)

Globally, 80% of workers don’t have a desk or an office. These workers are the backbone of the global economy, the people we interact with every day in stores, on buses, in our hospitals, delivering our parcels, and maintaining our buildings. The current generation of workplace technology doesn’t fit their needs, Blink enables those people to be productive, informed, and engaged while on the move.

Why this role exists

Blink is a frontline employee experience and internal comms app. We are VC-backed, around $20m ARR, and we

operate through four entities across the UK, US, Australia, and New Zealand, in four currencies.

That footprint has outgrown the finance team. Between now and next summer we have two group audits, four

sets of statutory accounts, a transfer pricing refresh, a possible new entity due to global expansion, sales tax

obligations in Canada, an R&D claim in the US, and an inter-company loan position to resolve before year end.

This is purely an execution role. We need someone who is ready to take the compliance and reporting load and

run it properly, at pace to ensure we adhere to our reporting timelines.

Key Deliverables

- Audit and statutory
- Group and APAC audit prep and delivery. (APAC and Group under FRS 102)
- Statutory accounts across the four entities (Aus, NZ, US, UK)
- R&D capitalization methodology that passes audit first time, with support from our finance manager.

Tax and entities

- Inter-company loan between the UK and US.
- Transfer pricing refresh covering the Australian tax losses, and the UAE entity if it goes ahead.
- Assistance with entity setup, registration, and tax compliance.
- Canada sales tax position assessment.
- CFC and PFIC status memorandum completion

Ongoing

- Payroll across the group.
- Month end review and sign-off.
- Covenant reporting

On the advisory work: we use great advisors in each jurisdiction and you will have access to them. What we need

is someone who briefs them well, challenges what comes back, and drives it to a conclusion.

What this role is not

Worth being clear, so you can decide quickly.•

- The finance director keeps board reporting, investor and lender relationships, capital and cash strategy, and pricing.
- This is a deep, technical, high-volume controllership role. If that is the work you want to do, it is a good nine months. If you are looking for a step into strategy, this is not it.

Requirements

Essential

- Qualified accountant. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent.
- You have taken a group audit from prep to sign-off as the preparer, not just supported one.
- Multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation experience.
- Statutory account exposure across US and UK entities. APAC is a bonus.
- Enough international tax exposure to hold your own on transfer pricing, permanent establishment, and sales
- tax. You do not need to be a technical expert. You need to know what to ask.
- Payroll oversight across the US and UK.
- Quick ramp time, no coaching.
- Available to start ASAP

Helpful

- SaaS or subscription revenue, and comfort with deferred and accrued income at volume.
- R&D capitalisation or R&D claims in the UK .
- Xero, Chargebee, and a modern finance stack. We use AI tools heavily across the team and you will be
- encouraged to.
- You have worked in a company that was growing faster than its processes.

How we work

We are a small team and a busy one. Four people plus outsourced support, running finance for a group operating

in four countries. That means real ownership and very little bureaucracy, and it also means the work is genuinely

heavy between October and February.

You will report to the finance director and work most closely with our finance manager and finance associate. You

will have direct access to our advisors and our auditors.
