- This position is designed and intended to be performed in Columbus, MS.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in managing Quality department operations, including laboratory and Quality line functions.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of BRC and Food Safety programs, serving as an active member of the Food Safety team.
- Perform required BRC audits and support plant GMP audits, ensuring adherence to established quality and food safety standards.
- Lead, implement, and continuously support Quality programs and processes across the operation.
- Direct Quality Inspectors and clearly communicate department goals, expectations, and priorities.
- Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring employees follow all applicable OSHA safety practices, Food Safety Defense Plan, and established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors in Food Science or related field
- Experience working in a similar role
- Must be willing to work OT, nights and weekends as needed.
- Must be highly motivated and have strong people skills
