Pediatric Hospitalist role in Anchorage, AK.
Responsibilities
Alaska Neonatology Associates , part of Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a pediatric hospitalist to join our teams at Alaska Regional Hospital and Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.
- 6+ pediatric hospitalist team that shares a group practice with a team of neonatologists, providing hospital-based neonatal and pediatric services in southcentral Alaska
- Shifts are 24 hours with call from home (20-minute response time required)
- Simultaneous coverage of 2 hospitals as follows:
Providence Alaska Medical Center:
Level I newborn nursery with a daily census range of 2-12, average daily census of 4 (range 0-12) without delivery attendance requirement
- Alaska Regional Hospital:
Provide consults as needed in the Emergency Department
- Inpatient pediatric unit with an average daily census < 1
- Attendance at high-risk deliveries (hospital has ~500 total annual deliveries; ~35% require in-person attendance)
- Level II NICU with Annual Admissions < 100
- Well Newborn Nursery for ~300 patients annually
- Circumcision skills and/or willingness to learn/perform strongly desired
- Involvement in program development and quality improvement activities is required
- Didactics and preceptor opportunities for 3rd year medical students
- EMR: Epic at both sites
