Position Overview

The Retail Associate is responsible for providing friendly, efficient customer service and overseeing daily retail operations. This position serves as the first point of contact for guests and incoming phone calls while supporting merchandise sales, to-go beer sales, and general taproom operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Service & Retail

- Greet guests and provide a welcoming first impression.
- Assist with merchandise and to-go beer purchases.
- Process transactions accurately through the Toast POS system.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls/take messages as needed.
- Maintain organized, stocked, and visually appealing retail displays.
- Communicate inventory shortages, customer concerns, and operational issues to management.

2. Taproom Support

- Assist with bussing tables and maintaining clean guest areas.
- Help run food when additional support is needed.
- Empty garbage and recycling and replace liners.
- Assist with stocking, moving products, and other front-of-house duties as assigned.

3. Cleanliness & Safety

- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe retail workspace.
- Keep counters, displays, and walkways clear of clutter.
- Follow all company procedures, sanitation standards, and applicable alcohol sales laws.
- Handle merchandise, beer, and equipment safely.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to assist across departments.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 60 pounds (approximately the weight of a 1/6-barrel keg), with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine stocking and cleaning duties.

Performance Expectations

The Retail Associate is expected to provide consistent customer service, maintain accurate transactions and organized displays, follow company policies, and support overall taproom operations. Retail duties remain the primary focus, with additional responsibilities assigned based on business needs and management direction.

This SOP may be updated by management as operational needs change.
