About this role
About GHIC
The Global Health Investment Corporation (GHIC) is a healthcare impact venture firm focused on investing in transformational technologies and products that will enable a healthier world and safer future for all. A pioneer of impact investing in global health, GHIC has been financing innovation in public health for over a decade.
GHIC’s inaugural Global Health Investment Fund (GHIF), launched in 2012, targeted diseases that disproportionately burden people living in low- and middle-income countries, and to date, the fund’s portfolio companies have successfully commercialized more than a dozen products that have been delivered to over 500 million people.
Currently, GHIC has three active programs: the Global Health Security Fund (GHSF), the Frontier Fund, and the Catalytic Health Investment Platform (CHIP).
GHSF is a $353M venture fund launched in partnership with BARDA (Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and a group of mission-aligned investors to accelerate the development of technologies that address public health emergencies, such as pandemics and other health security threats.
The Frontier Fund is a non-dilutive grant program funded by BARDA that supports high-risk, high-impact translational research in global health security through research awards, consortium funding, and fellowships for early-career investigators.
CHIP is a long-term partnership with KfW Development Bank on behalf of the German government, which makes catalytic investments and grants to accelerate public health technologies and strengthen health systems in low- and middle-income countries.
