Methodist Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable, team-oriented PRN Nutrition Services Technician to join our Nutrition Services team at our Main Campus in Jackson, MS.

In this role, you'll help prepare and serve meals, deliver food to patients, maintain clean and sanitary kitchen areas, and support daily cafeteria operations. Your work helps provide a welcoming dining experience and supports the comfort and well-being of our patients, employees, and visitors.

What You'll Do

- Prepare and cook food according to established recipes and department procedures.

- Deliver patient meals and collect used meal trays.

- Assist with food preparation, delivery, and service in the patient dining areas and cafeteria.

- Set up, maintain, break down, and clean kitchen, caf, dining, and dish room areas.

- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.

- Monitor food temperatures to help ensure food is maintained within required safety ranges.

- Clean and maintain kitchen and food service equipment.

- Receive deliveries, unload delivery trucks, and stock and rotate food and supplies.

- Assist with cashier duties as needed.

- Set up and serve catered events as required.

- Perform other duties as assigned to support daily Nutrition Services operations.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

- High school diploma or equivalent highly desired.

- Previous restaurant or food service experience is a plus; 2–3 years of restaurant experience preferred .

- Ability to read and write.

- Computer experience is a plus.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

- Dependable, organized, and attentive to cleanliness and food safety.

- Willingness to assist with a variety of kitchen, dining, and food service duties.

Physical Requirements

This is an active position that requires the ability to:

- Stand for extended periods.

- Push and pull carts and food service equipment.

- Lift up to 40 pounds .

- Work in warm or hot kitchen environments.

- Perform cleaning, stocking, food preparation, and other physical duties.

- Work extended hours when needed to meet departmental requirements.
