About this role

The University of Virginia is accepting applications for an Access Control Technician or a Senior Access Control Technician to join the Facilities Management team. Every card reader, door operator, and lock on UVA Grounds depends on someone who knows how to keep it working. Facilities Management is looking for that person, and we’re hiring at two levels: Access Control Technician and Senior Access Control Technician. Whether you’re building your career in electronic access control or you’re a seasoned pro ready to lead small projects, we want to hear from you.

Our multi-discipline team installs electronic access control devices, hardware, and controls, and performs preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic and mechanical locking systems across academic buildings, student and faculty housing, and medical center environments. What Makes This Role Unique:

- Two levels, one opening: Apply once and be considered for both. Placement is based on what you bring, with a built-in path from Technician to Senior.

- Industry-standard platforms: Use access control software and mobile applications to program, troubleshoot, and report, with room to build on manufacturer training and certifications.
