About this role
We're the world's leading consumer healthcare platform, supporting millions of patients across the US, Australia, the UK, Germany, Japan, Spain and Canada.
We're driven by the belief that good health should last a lifetime, and that to get there we need to deliver the personalised, high quality and empathetic care that the traditional system cannot support.
You'll partner with our care teams of prescribers, nurses, health coaches, pharmacists and dietitians to support patients across preventative health, weight management and specific women's and men's health conditions.
We joined Hims & Hers so that you can do all of the above on a bigger scale, with more ambition, a stronger global brand and the resources to deliver care to patients in dozens of countries.
We're looking for people who appreciate and are excited by the enormity and uniqueness of this challenge, and want to work in the most ambitious, smart, fast moving and positive sum environment of their lives to transform how healthcare is delivered globally.
We hope that's you.
About the role (What you'll be doing)
We're looking for a Tax & Compliance Accountant to keep our Philippine entity compliant with BIR, SEC and BOI requirements, and to become the person here who actually understands what that requires.
Our Philippines entity is a shared services branch supporting every Eucalyptus brand globally. It's a young operation in a market we're still learning, and right now the delivery of BIR, SEC and BOI requirements lives mostly with external advisors. This role changes that. You'll own the compliance calendar day to day, work closely with our advisors, and over time build the in-house knowledge we're currently missing.
The remit is regulatory compliance across three bodies: BIR tax returns, withholding and audits; SEC corporate reporting and audited financial statements; and BOI registration and incentive reporting. You'll also work alongside the accounting and legal teams on month-end, audit preparation and entity matters, moving to where the need is greatest. It's a role that will stretch beyond a narrow tax lane, which is the point: it's an unusually broad view of a business for someone at this stage of their career.
You'll report to our Tax Lead, working closely with the wider finance team across Australia and the UK.
As our Tax & Compliance Accountant, you will:
- Prepare and file our Philippine Income tax return: corporate income tax, and withholding tax on compensation and expanded withholding, along with the supporting schedules and reconciliations.
- Keep our corporate filings current: manage SEC obligations including annual reporting and audited financial statements, and maintain our BOI registration and incentive reporting so we keep meeting the conditions attached to it.
- Build our in-house understanding of Philippine regulation: work through BIR, SEC and BOI requirements with our advisors, track regulatory change, and write it down in a form the rest of the team can actually use. Over time, you become the person people ask first.
- Work with our external advisors and auditors: be the day-to-day point of contact for our local tax agents and statutory auditors. Chase what's needed, sense-check what comes back rather than passing it straight on, and keep everyone to deadline.
- Support intercompany and cross-border compliance: as a shared services branch, most of what we do involves recharges to Eucalyptus entities in other markets. You'll help maintain the documentation behind those arrangements, including related-party disclosures and transfer pricing support, with guidance from the global tax team.
- Support BIR audits and assessments: pull together documentation, draft responses to notices, and help work assessments through to resolution alongside the Tax Lead and Legal.
- Pitch in on accounting: support month-end close, reconciliations between statutory and management reporting, and audit readiness for the Philippine entity.
- Make the process repeatable: document what you do as you do it, so compliance doesn't depend on one person's knowledge and starts running on a system.
About you (Who you are)
- 3–5 years in tax and statutory compliance in the Philippines (Big 4, mid-tier practice, or in-house at a multinational or shared services centre).
- Hands-on experience preparing Philippine tax returns: corporate income tax and withholding taxes. You've prepared and filed these yourself, not only reviewed or observed.
- Hand-on experience with BIR, SEC and BOI processes. You know what these regulators expect and what good documentation looks like. Exposure to a BIR audit or assessment is a plus.
- CPA qualified, or working towards it. Desirable rather than essential; strong practical experience matters more to us.
- Genuinely curious about the technical detail. We need someone who reads the regulation rather than waiting to be told, and who wants to become the internal expert rather than permanently outsourcing that.
- Organised and reliable with deadlines. A lot of this role is a calendar of statutory dates that cannot slip, and we need to be able to stop worrying about them.
- Comfortable working across tax, accounting and legal. The boundaries here are deliberately soft. If you want a tightly scoped tax-only role, this isn't it.
- A clear communicator across time zones, working with colleagues in Australia and the UK who won't know Philippine regulation and will depend on how you explain it.
- Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-scaling, post-acquisition business where processes are still being built.
- NetSuite experience is a nice to have, not a requirement.
