Custodial Night Porter

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking a Custodial-Night Porter in the Kakaako area. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to stand and walk for extended shifts, while also being capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. While previous experience is a plus, it is not necessary, as training will be provided. Join us in creating a clean and inviting atmosphere for everyone.

-Location: Downtown/Kakaako (Oahu, HI)

-Employment Job Type: Part-time

-Hours Per Week: 19.50

-Schedule: Monday to Thursday from 4:00PM - 8:00PM and Friday 4:00PM - 7:30PM

-Hourly Pay Rate: $17.00

-Key Responsibilities:

-Cleaning, dusting, and sanitizing restrooms and common areas.

-Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.

-Restroom cleaning

-Emptying trash and recycling bins; and dispose of waste in the designated areas.

Empty wastebaskets and replace liners as necessary.

Dust tops of furniture, files, and tables.

Monitor the general floor area for scraps, paper clips, etc.

Spot clean doors and light switches to remove smudges and finger marks (Clean finger marks from both sides of glass doors)

Turn off all lights and lock all doors upon leaving.

Leave drapes and louvers in a closed position.

Clean/disinfect all sinks, toilet bowls, and urinals with a germicidal solution, including tile walls near urinals and toilets.

Clean/polish all mirrors, exposed piping below basins/bowls/urinals, towel dispensers, receptacles, and any other metal surfaces.

Restocking supplies such as soap and paper products.

Maintaining cleaning equipment and supplies.

Reporting any maintenance issues or safety hazards.

Ensuring a clean and orderly environment for staff and visitors.

Perform other tasks as directed by the HBM supervisor

-Skills and Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Must successfully pass prescreen check.

Previous experience in custodial or cleaning roles is desirable.

Ability to perform tasks in various weather conditions.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.

Physically capable of carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling between 25 to 50 pounds, as well as standing for long stretches and performing tasks like stretching, kneeling, bending, crawling, climbing, and pressing.

Competence in safely and effectively operating cleaning equipment.

Willingness to learn and participate in training for the position.

Capability to work independently and manage time efficiently

Good communication skills in English and the ability to work well in a team.

Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards.
