Senior Membership Director

The YMCA of Greater Toledo is seeking a Senior Membership Director to lead an exceptional member experience at the Sylvania YMCA/JCC.

This role is ideal for a relationship-focused leader who enjoys developing teams, engaging members, and creating an environment where people feel welcomed, connected, and supported. The Senior Membership Director provides leadership and oversight for the Membership Department, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and supervision of the Member Service team and Member Experience Director.

You'll also play an important role in growing membership, strengthening retention, developing community and corporate relationships, and connecting members with YMCA/JCC programs and services.

What You'll Do

As Senior Membership Director, you'll guide our Membership Department so every interaction feels welcoming, helpful, and on-point. You'll shape service standards, grow engagement, and keep retention moving in the right direction.

Key responsibilities:
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, coach, and supervise Member Service staff
- Lead and support the Member Experience Director
- Resolve member concerns promptly and professionally, protecting confidentiality
- Strengthen satisfaction and retention; connect members to programs and services
- Ensure tours, Fit 101s, and Getting Started programs are delivered consistently
- Uphold membership/wellness policies, financial procedures, and fiscal stewardship
- Build community relationships, grow corporate partnerships, and support the Annual Campaign

Required qualifications/skills:
- College degree and 4+ years in health & wellness and customer service (preferred)
- Strong communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
