About this role

Cyber Instincts is a Gothenburg-based consultancy helping organizations build digital resilience across IT, OT, and automotive environments. Within Cyber Instincts, we’re expanding beyond cybersecurity into data engineering. We work with clients across automotive, manufacturing, banking and finance, retail, and healthcare. Many of them are sitting on large amounts of data from systems, sensors, and vehicles, and they need it to be reliable, secure, and ready for analytics and AI. We’re building our senior bench of data engineers who can turn scattered data into solid, well-governed platforms. By applying, you join our consultant pool, and we contact you when an assignment matches your profile.

What the work may look like:

- Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines for batch and streaming data
- Developing and modernizing data platforms, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures
- Integrating data from source systems, APIs, IoT/OT environments, and vehicle data
- Making sure data quality, lineage, and documentation hold up over time
- Preparing data for analytics, reporting, and machine learning use cases
- Working with security and compliance teams to implement access control, data protection, and GDPR requirements
- Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand what the data needs to do

What you’ll bring:

- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role
- Strong SQL and Python (or Scala/Java) skills
- Hands-on experience with data processing tools such as Spark, Databricks, dbt, or Airflow
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and its data services, such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, Glue, Redshift, or BigQuery
- Experience with data modeling and data warehouse or lakehouse design
- Fluent English, spoken and written

A plus, not a requirement:

- Swedish language skills
- Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs
- Experience with data governance and security, e.g. Unity Catalog, Purview, or role-based access control
- Experience with automotive, manufacturing, or sensor/IoT data
- Experience supporting ML or AI workloads in production
- Previous consulting experience

This is a Sweden-based role with hybrid or on-site placements at client sites across the country. Applicants must currently reside in Sweden. You’ll be employed or engaged on a freelance basis and placed directly with our clients for the duration of each engagement.
