About this role
The Team
Cundall's Data, Digital team enables digital innovation, data-led working, automation and responsible adoption of artificial intelligence across our global engineering consultancy.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Power Platform & Copilot Platform Architect to join our growing capability. The role may be based in Poland or Romania, with the working arrangement agreed in line with Cundall's local employment and office requirements.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Power Platform & Copilot Platform Architect to own and develop Cundall's enterprise Microsoft Power Platform and Copilot Studio capability. You will provide the technical architecture, environment strategy, governance, application lifecycle management and integration framework required to safely scale Power Apps, Power Automate and AI agents across the organisation.
This is not solely an application development role. You will act as the technical bridge between experimentation and supported production services, helping teams progress promising ideas into secure, scalable, maintainable and monitored business solutions. You will work closely with Data & Digital, IT, Enterprise Architecture, Azure and Cloud, Information Security, Data Protection, AI Governance and business stakeholders across Cundall.
Responsibilities:
- Own and develop the enterprise architecture for Power Platform and Copilot Studio, including environments, Dataverse, Power Apps, Power Automate, connectors and supporting services
- Define and maintain environment strategies covering personal maker, sandbox, development, test, pilot and production use, including appropriate security boundaries and production segregation
- Administer and govern the Copilot and agent platform, maintaining visibility of ownership, purpose, environment, users, data sources, connectors, authentication, dependencies, usage, cost and review status
- Establish lifecycle controls for apps, flows and agents from experimentation through pilot, production, monitoring, change and retirement
- Define and operate application lifecycle management practices using solutions, source control, deployment pipelines, managed deployments, environment variables, approvals, release records and rollback arrangements
- Design and assure integrations using approved APIs, custom connectors, Dataverse, SharePoint, Microsoft Graph, Azure services and other enterprise systems
- Implement and maintain governance and security controls, including data loss prevention policies, connector classification, permissions, Entra groups, security roles, service identities, secrets management, auditability and external sharing controls
- Work with Information Security, Data Protection, Enterprise Architecture and AI Governance colleagues to translate policy and risk requirements into practical platform guardrails and technical patterns
- Monitor platform health, failures, performance, capacity, licensing and consumption across Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Dataverse, AI Builder and relevant Azure services
- Identify and address orphaned, duplicated, unused, unsupported, non-compliant or over-privileged apps, flows, agents and connections
- Support Cundall's Production Gateway with technical assessments, architecture documentation, security evidence, test results, operational ownership, monitoring and support readiness
- Create reusable components, templates, naming conventions, solution patterns and guidance for Explorers, Builders and citizen makers
- Provide hands-on development and troubleshooting for strategic or complex solutions, while coaching colleagues and promoting maintainable delivery
- Maintain inventories, technical standards, runbooks and decision records sufficient for audit, support, handover and service continuity
- Assess emerging Microsoft Copilot, agent and Power Platform capabilities and recommend their controlled adoption where they offer clear value
The Skills
- Substantial hands-on experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Dataverse, Power Fx, Power Platform solutions and the Power Platform Admin Center
- Strong understanding of enterprise Power Platform architecture, environment management, governance, security, licensing, capacity and operational administration
- Proven capability in application lifecycle management and DevOps, including Git or equivalent source control, CI/CD pipelines, managed solutions, release processes, environment variables and rollback
- Ability to design and build integrations using REST APIs, JSON, OAuth, custom connectors, Microsoft Graph and enterprise data sources
- Working knowledge of PowerShell and sufficient pro-code capability to extend the platform and support enterprise-scale solutions
- Practical Azure knowledge covering Entra ID, app registrations, enterprise applications, service principals, managed identities, Key Vault, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, Application Insights, Storage and Azure SQL
- Sound knowledge of data policies, connector controls, least privilege, Dataverse security roles, authentication, secrets management, audit logs and production access controls
- Ability to decide when low-code is appropriate and when an API, Azure service or conventional software development approach is required
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder communication skills
- Confidence to provide constructive technical challenge to citizen developers, delivery teams and traditional IT developers
- A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent professional experience in software engineering, information systems, computer science, digital technology or a related discipline
- Professional working proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate complex technical subjects clearly to international technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Relevant Microsoft Power Platform certification is desirable, particularly Solution Architect, Developer, Functional Consultant or Administrator pathways
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, SQL, YAML pipelines, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI or Microsoft Agent technologies is desirable
- Experience in an engineering consultancy, professional services organisation or another governed enterprise environment is desirable
