Your Role at KIK

The Parts and Inventory Clerk for 2nd Shift (Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM) keeps our storeroom and maintenance systems running at our Lake Charles, LA chemical manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Planner / Scheduler / MRO Supervisor, this role is the gatekeeper for parts and materials after the day team leaves: issuing and receiving stock, closing out work orders, kitting parts for upcoming jobs, and building out equipment, bill of material, and PM data in SAP. This is a technical, detail-driven position that supports both operations and maintenance, and it is well suited to someone who works independently, learns quickly, and takes pride in accurate records.

This position has an hourly pay rate of $28.50.

What You’ll Do

- Issue, receive, and put away parts and materials, recording every transaction in SAP so storeroom inventory is accurate at all times
- Receive deliveries into the system, inspect materials, and reconcile quantities to purchase orders and packing documentation
- Close out work orders and notifications and help manage the notification and work order backlog
- Kit parts for scheduled maintenance jobs — pull, stage, and issue materials to the work order so technicians go straight to the equipment
- Build and maintain equipment hierarchy, bills of material (BOM), and PM data in SAP to close gaps in the CMMS from start to finish of the process
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventories; investigate discrepancies, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions
- Monitor min/max levels on critical spare parts and create purchase requisitions when stock falls below minimum
- Track open orders and follow up with suppliers on delivery status
- Tag, label, and locate stock; maintain storeroom housekeeping and organization
- Help write and maintain procedures that support maintenance and operations
- Operate a forklift or cart to deliver parts to the maintenance shop when needed; KIK provides forklift certification
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

What You’ll Bring

- High school diploma or GED required
- 2 or more years of warehouse or storeroom inventory experience with inventory control responsibility
- Strong computer skills; experience with SAP or another ERP, CMMS, or inventory management system strongly preferred
- Experience with cycle counts, physical inventories, bin location accuracy, and discrepancy resolution
- Experience receiving materials against purchase orders and maintaining receiving records preferred
- Experience supporting maintenance — PM work orders, spare parts, kitting — preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel experience preferred (training provided)
- Forklift experience preferred; ability to obtain KIK forklift certification required
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; able to work independently on 2nd shift with limited supervision and willing to learn established processes
- Strong attention to detail; ability to read, write, and communicate in English, follow written and verbal instructions, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, retail stockroom, or industrial storeroom backgrounds are all welcome
- Successful completion of a pre-employment skills assessment

Physical Requirements

- Ability to frequently lift, move, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and material handling throughout the shift
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive movements
- Ability to work in warehouse and manufacturing environments with varying temperatures
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed footwear, and respiratory protection when required
